Web Based (free) email services

hi all,

since my university sucks and will not admire my alumni status by keep my email account active... i am browsing for something new.

i will be running MS Outlook @ home to manage emails but would also like to be able to check personal emails during the day from my cage @ work. i think i am in the market for a web-based (free) email service like hotmail or yahoo... but i might prefer something with more of a microbrew feel that could be less prone to vandalization via spam.

any suggestions ???

I got the minimum Earthlink service - $10 a month after suffering with Yahoo for too long. Good spam and virus filters. No junk mail or popups - but that is still $10 a month more than FREE.

Personally, it's worth the $10 to me.

Still have a couple yahoo mail accounts but they're a pain.
