Yeah, those black wheels are the shiznit. It was 2000 only that had the black wheels.
I wish I had those too........

maybe if I let the brake dust build up long enough....

I wonder how much it would cost, or if it's even feasable to get wheels powder coated????

Anyone know what other rims will fit? Bandit? GSXR?

I'm sure you can powder coat the stock rims black...I think someone said it would be about $200.

I see a guy on Beach BLVD with hot pink rims a lot. It's very eye catching.

And yes the dark rims for the 2000 SV's are great. I love mine!:D

there's a guy in the svrider.com classifieds, trade section..he's got the dark wheels, and he's looking to trade for the silver, even swap. his are in perfect condition, apparently. it's worth checking out.

here's the link:

I've got the black wheels. Sometimes I think i'd prefer the silver, that they look better with the frame of the bike..but then I realize how well the dark wheels hide chain debris that flings off, etc :)

ECP powdercoating did mine gloss black for 100 bucks. you have to prep them and tape them, and they will do the rest. turn around was 3 days, and they did an excelent job. they maybe heavier, but they look better, and the wip clean in an instant.

Black Rims looked good, cleaned up really easy, but powder coated rims clean up much easier. No texture to them once they have been coated. Yellow rims, in my opinion, look much better!!!!
It cost me about $150 to have mine coated.

it’s a process of baking on paint to a metal surface, it is heated up to like 450 degrees, and it electromagnetically fuses the finish onto the metal. Its really strong and ding-resistant. Its called power-coating because the guy who invented it was geeked out of his mind on cocaine when he accidentally stumbled across the process... that or the finish material is a very dry paint almost like a powder
