Same as always, except only one arm:

Just push down on the arm (it does take a hefty push though)

and voila, more space to work behind the bike, compared to the regular Pitbull

There were two guys in the band too. They had long hair, though.

Check out Abba stands here: http://www.abbastands.co.uk/ Now if I can just squeeze one in my suitcase next year when I go to England.

I have a crap rear stand and a pitbull front, so I am glad I waited to get the pit rear, cause that one rocks.
I love the Triple crown Pit front.

I should note for those pondering that stand that it DOES NOT work with an SV1000S (and most likely the naked 1000 as well as probably the TL-R and TL-S).
The arm of the stand and the kickstand try to occupy the same spot which means you have to have the bike upright with the kickstand UP before you can try to engage the stand (2 man job). Also; it doesn't work well for heavy bikes; as your mechanical leverage is reduced compared to a conventional stand.

I agree that the arm doesn't provide as much mechanical leverage as a conventional stand, but in regards to the kickstand being in the way, the same is true for the SV, but I just put the kickstand up before I push down on the arm
heh..well if this one gives less than a mechanical advantage than the standard pit bull stand, I would recommend smallish types look elsewhere for a rear stand.
I had a good laugh watching a smaller person push down on a standard pit bull, get the bike halfway up, then run out of strength and have the stand's arm come back up...it lifted them off the ground:lol:

Then you should really try the Lockhart Phillips stands. I'm small and have no trouble with my Pit Bull stand but the crap Lockhart Phillips make is amazing. I think they give mechanical disadvantage. :D

...and that makes you big and strong:tired:
Can't you push that arm down with your foot. It looks like you should be able to just step on it to make it work.

are you using the stand in the right direction? looks like the arm should go to the back of the bike ....just wondering...

yeah it was used in the right direction.. It works fine on the R1 b/c of where the kickstand is and how light the bike is..

yeah it looks like it can be used either way judging by the notches that hold the spools

I only weigh 150, but I can still use this stand.
It takes a little effort to get it started, but you just have to get used to it.

I also think it would be better to use it the other way around. In this fashion, you could use the stand-on-the-pipe-side technique to avoid an unnecessary drop. Otherwise it just seems like more trouble to me than it's worth to have the area behind the bike clear. Is that such a big deal?

I have the stand and have no trouble raising and lowering the bike solo. (I have actually done it while talking on the phone)
You do have to have the kick stand up but it is not really an issue. I think that I would have prefered the handle to be on the other side but I wouldn't let that discourage anyone from getting it. I will try to post a video of the stand in action.
