Ok guys, I need to ask a question.

I have a '04 SV650S. I just got back from a short ride and while out, I've notice my bike making a noise I never heard it make before. Kinda hard to describe, but it sould like something is rubbing like a shhhh shhhh, shhhhh shhhh. The noise is only heard if I'm on the throttle. If I let off, it stops. Thought it might be a small pebble between the brakes and rotor but as soon as I let off the throttle it stops.

Last time I rode my bike was about 3-4 days ago. Before I parked it, I cleaned and oiled the chain and put the cover on. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. It's hard to tell where it is coming from, but it sounds like it is in the front of the bike. Only have 1300 miles on it, so I hope it's nothing major so soon..

Anyone have any ideas or solutions to try. Or has anyone experienced this noise before. I know that this is a vague description, but figued I ask.

Thanks,
Cory

I have the same kinda noise but mine is from my chain, maybe alignment? Someone please confirm.

I cleaned and lubed it and next thing you know, there is a noticable noised that I confirmed by riding w/o my helmet in the office parking lot. I have my 7500mi service coming up and am going to need some help also with this noise.

I'm hoping that someone is nice enough to show/help me do the service so that next time I'll be comfortable servicing my bike.

My front brakes make that noise when they drag. You may want to check your cable routing or your brake alignment. If the brakes get wet mine make that noise until the corrosion is scraped off.

Sounds to me like it may be your fuel injectors.

Yes it is. It's hard to tell without more information. Your bike is an '04, take it to the dealership and have it inspected since it should still be under warranty. Without wasting time going into great detail with us, you'll likely have peace of mind if you had a shop look at it.

Good luck.

You know what? I think your right...
The noise wasn't quite the same on todays ride. It was much more constant instead of the rythme it had. What causes that by the way?

It's just chain noise. I get it every time I clean the chain and then spray on chain wax.

Noise goes away after 20-30km. Scared me the first time too.

Thanks guys. I got worried when I first heard it. This is my first bike, so I'm not used to the little noises and what may be causing them. Though, I have lubed the chain 2-3 times already and never noticed that noise.
