andrew, take the rear plastics off, then you will see where you should cut the fender. it is really very easy. you want most of the 'tray' under the passenger seat to remain (this is where you put stuff under the seat). if you cut too much of it wont hold stuff in place very well...
soo...
remove seats
remove grab bar
pop all the black plastic rivets(just push in, then pop out)
remove screws
the plastics should fall off and give access to where you cut.
if you need more info, i could send you a picture or two...
and p.s., i just mounted my liscense and it looks very cool, its tucked all the way in, in front of the rear wheel almost.
hope this helps;) ...

On the 03's you do not need to cut off the fender..you unbolt it.....you do need to unbolt the rear body work ....

right, you don't cut the fender actually, you cut the 'tray' thing. and i like to get stuff out of the way so i can see what i'm doing, especially when cutting stuff:)

Hi Guys
I've got my bike in bits and pieces, ready to fit the undertail, can anyone tell me whether the part fits over the top of the existing undertail or is removal of the orginal the go?

The whole stock undertray just bolts right out so you can see if the underbodies tray is a direct replacement which it should be...for that money

It installed fine aside from the fasteners not quite flushing. The new tray just slides underneath the existing tray. Try to get all your drills lined up as straight as possible, and that should help the fasteners flush.
I can kinda understand Hotbodies not returning a call to Australia...but the emails are another matter...hope this helps....

I tried just slipping mine over the stock tray, but it was simply too tight. It was busting at the seams. I took it off and cut the tray with an exacto and a bic. It came off smooth as butter, and fits real nice.
I love this undertail!

Hey Y'all. I just paid for my dealer to install my hot bodies undertail (I couldn't be bothered taking the fairing off myself) and it looks hot. However my blinker rate has almost doubled. Is this normal and is this an issue? I thought Hot Bodies would have included a resistor in the kit. I am about to mount some Watsendesign flushmount signals which apparently does have resistance - do you think that will solve the problem?
There are no instructions. You have to remove the entire "snow shovel" and then slide the undertail into position and rivet it up... It's kinda a bitch but you can do it. I have faith...
