1st Gen SV/S: Carb Sync Engine Hose Q?s

I'm considering adding the extra tubing/hoses needed to do future quick Carb Sync checks like Carolyn (BlueProof) has done, but have a couple of question related to this slight engine mod prior to digging under the tank...

Q?-1: I'd like to confirm the diameter of the tubing used is 1/4" ID (Inner Diameter) and not OD (Outer Diameter)? I suspect it is, but would like confirmation of this prior to starting if someone else here knows for sure.

Q?-2: Related to the newly added plastics (tubing and even the sprinkler spliters (T-Joints) and/or On/Off valves) has any of those items proven or if not proven to be yet have a likely potential of being a problem with the engine's operation given that they're not made the same sort of rubber material we see being used with the rest of the engine's hoses?

1st Gen SV/S maaaybe even 2nd Gen: Engine Replacement Hose Q?s

I'm separating the next Q?s from the two priors since even though somewhat related with regards to engine hoses, they're not entirely related to the Carb Sync add-on hosing project specifically.

I've notice some of the engine hoses here have started to dry out where if bent/stretched in a direction opposite to its stationary placement/route slight signs (small cracks) of the rubber drying out are starting to show up. SO,

Q?-3: At what point does one really need to replace engine hoses given none appear to be ready to split open due to full blown cracking in the rubber; just that slight signs when forced/checked by bending them are there?

Q?-4: WHERE does one find new replacement engine hoses to DIY and/or do we have a list of the all the various engine hose sizes (lengths/diameters) and maybe types one can use when looking for replacements via maybe an auto related resource?

-----------------------

Thanks in advance for any insight to the above Q?s...

I owuld recommend not using the clear plastic tubing at the hardware sotre, that's what i usedand it has already turned yellow.

I have not had any engine problems since doing the mod form Blueproof but also have not had the opportunity to sync my carbs since then.

Dont get the really cheap shit hosing as gas vapors can degrade the wall thickness/integrity. I think I went with the 1/4 od and I used hot water to heat the end of the hose, makes it easier to force it onto the vacum port, et voila. I zip tied my sprinkler fittings on just to be on the safe side.
I have drained a few drops of gas from each hose on occasion but no adverse effects on the motor at all.
