Couple questions about sliders. One, why is one side longer the other? This is probably a simple question, but I'm new, and I can't figure it out.
2nd, what are a couple good brands of sliders?
Has any body had any experience with these?

thanks for the info.

i believe the side that is longer is going to be the side the exhaust is on...obvious why it would be longer..but that's just my theory

I have them on mine and they saved me from alot of extra damage when the old fogie didnt see me and turned into me. I highly recommend them as they also have a 1 time free replacement if "used"

A really good pair is made by www.motosliders.com. The sliders are made by a fellow SV rider.
Also, consider getting a pair of swingarm sliders.
Many who've used his stuff have good things to say.

I have Motovation sliders on my SV I've been very happy with there install and look, though I have not crash tested them yet. There is some good info on there site and some after crash pics of bikes with them installed.

The longer a slider is, the more leverage it will have on the frame, especially if it has a metal base. Be careful....

Cool cool. Trying to find good priced sliders that go all the way through, single bolt like.

motosliders.com for sure.
Nates sliders are nice and long and extend beyond fairing panel. Just checked his site and the operation is closed down for now for re-structuring.
Definitely recommend them, thankfully haven't crash tested them but I did stupidly drop the bike on a downhill gradient. It landed on the bar end weight and the frame slider and not a bit of plastic touched the deck.

the single-through-frame design is definately good. I've crashed hard on the Intuitive Pro sliders and they worked great. Also if you just happen to drop your bike they work too, though any slider will help with that. Oh, and get spool sliders - they'll help keep the rear axle from grinding on the ground. Oh, and keep the passenger foot pegs on as they work like sliders for the tail section. Ummm, what else....oh yeah, woodcraft rearsets are strong and each piece is replaceable, whereas stock ones just snap off. Just wanted to share a couple tidbits as my bike has been through a couple rebuilds :D
oh yeah, when oncoming cars turn into your lane, dont' hit them, it'll prevent lots of damage too.

Hey,
Bikesliders. Simple enough. Also made by a fellow SV rider. Plus, they look nice. Not like an ugly black stick. Heard only but good things about them.

Anyone know what happened to this guy. I was considering getting these late last year and I just checked and the site is gone.

Trey,
I've heard good reviews about the R & G sliders.
