I need to replace the right bar riser on my bike (it's an 02 zx6r but this is a pretty general question). How do I get the bar? out of the riser. There's a hex bolt on the inside (opposite end that the bar end is on) that I figured would unscrew, but I can't for the life of me get it to turn. I'm guessing I may be dealing with red lock-tite.
So, if this IS how you get the bar out of the riser, then how the hell do I get it unstuck?

i don't think the stock clip-ons are like aftermarket clip-ons where you can just replace the bars. you have to replace the whole clip-on. just because there's a hex bolt there doesn't mean that it's not expoxied in place as well.

Warren are you doing OK? I saw your bike coming back on a truck at TrackDay. What happened?

I would say that you would have to replace the whole clip-on but it is hard to tell without looking.

Check out the microfiche at Ron ayers:
bar assembly (http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/400_0472/handlebar/handlebar.cfm)
It's bolt 92150A that I'm trying to undo. That is all it takes, but the thing is stuck like glue. Like I said, I suspect red lock-tite.
Oh, the part that is broken is the riser, #4012A
Guzzi, I'm fine. Nothing at all happened to me, but the bike is pretty scraped up. The rear just let go on me and I low sided. Funny thing is, I was coming up on a slower rider, so I had slowed up, and wasn't even leaning real hard, but midway through the corner it went. I think it may have been the same turn that Alex went down on earlier. (Turn 7? It was the left hander right before the bowl). When the bike hit the dirt it flopped onto the right side, so there's damage to both sides.
I'm a little pissed that I crashed when I wasn't even going fast. There were plenty of times that session when I could have crashed for good reason, but Nooooo, it happens when I slow down. WTF!

I was leaking oil because it ground through the engine cover on the left side. I have to buy a new cover, but it's only like85 bucks so no big deal.
