Sure, I can skip shipping for socalriders if racinteach wants to pick it up. (lovin that FE you sold me, btw)

Sorry I didn't include sizing on the back protector, but I bought it used myself and the seller never indicated the size to me.

(which shock?) Last I checked, bidding for the Gixxer shock was at $36. For the SV, $10. For the small helmet $15.

Well if I'm 5'7" and 140lbs do you think that back protector will fit me?

I'm 5'7" and but about 165. It seemed to fit me fine, but to be honest, I'm not sure how it is supposed to fit. I've never owned another back protector nor have I ever been properly fitted for one.

It seemed to me though that there's a lot of room for error. I mean, it's basically a foam pad for your back. The straps are adjustable, and the kidney belt is elastic. Unless you were substantially far from my height, I don't see how it wouldn't fit.

Hope this helps at least a bit.

About that rear shock....... I heard they needed to be re-valved and everything to go onto a 650..... has this been done? or does it not need to be done?

From what I understand (though this may be wrong) the gixxer 1k shock will be a straight up improvement whether you pay to get it revalved or not. I've also heard that it is the best fit because it is the closest in size to the sv's shock. Your best bet is to search as this is something that has been discussed here at great length.

If it's going on an 03 it works really great put straight on. Owen and I bought a bevy of shocks (600, 2x 750, 2x 1000) and tested the spring rates and shock length. Of all of these the gixxer 1k was the closest to the SV with the spring rate just a hair higher and just a hair longer. Keep in mind that you will have to cut out part of the bottom of the battery tray to install the shock and I installed spacers to keep the shock from rubbing the battery. If you're really light and want a smooth ride over bumpy freeways revalving helps (@ least it made a difference to my SV).

Rey; any chance I can swing by during the weekend sometime to try on the back protector? My cell # is in my profile..
