So I just replaced my stock front signals with aftermarkets. I'll make this simple...one side has a regular "flash rate" and the other is much faster. Each side was replaced exactly like the other and I even tried to swap the wires to see if it would change anything.

Very boggled by this....any suggestions?

If one side is blinking faster, then both the turn signals arent hooked up. Be sure to check the front and the rear, faster blinking mean less resistance, as in a buld out.

Are the new signals LED's?

The rate of signal blink is inversely related to the wattage of the bulbs in your system. Faster Blinking = Less Wattage.

So; you've more wattage of lighting on one side or the other (loose turn signal sire) on the side that is blinking faster. This can happen if you change bulbs on one side but not the other or if a bulb is burnt out or if a wire is loose... Or it could be a sign that the flasher relay (not sure what the real term is) is kaput.

yes i had this problem when i ran two different kinds of aftermarket signals...but when i changed it to the same kind (lockhart philips...the triangular lense kind) they returned back to normal...i kinda liked it when it would blink fast...got more attention

everything they said...look for the blown bulb or crossed wires...or both front adn rear signals not connected properly..

I had the same issue basically

http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=12231&highlight=

long read, but it will tell you exactly what to do. Basically either need a resistor(s), or wire in the old bulbs somewhere hidden (sicne a bulb is basically a resistor)
