For Sale: CA Street Legal 2000 XR400 Dual Sport/Supermoto
I’m selling my xr400 Supermoto/dual sport/motard. The bike is very clean, and I’d never let this bike go if I didn’t get an insane deal on another bike. The xr400 is one of very few bikes that is bulletproof enough for the street AND light and flicable enough for the track or trail. Knee planted or foot out, this thing rails. When I picked up the bike 6 months ago, only a couple tanks had been run through it (see dirt wheel pic below), and it had been stored in a warehouse. I used the bike to commute 2-3 days per week, and occasional supermoto track days. Still on it’s first pair of supermoto tires! Please feel free to email bdmsupersport@yahoo.com with any questions. Thanks, Brian

Honestly: EASY! but i still have always left the 17's on just out of laziness/preference for sm. the dirt wheels are super clean. but to put the dirt wheels on: put it on a stand, bolt off wheels, swap out front rotor, grease axle, bolt back on. 20-30 min max.

Very unique bike, stop by Amago Sunday and check it out!
I've ridden it and it is THE bike for getting into/learning Supermoto. Bulletproof Honda that will take a lickin' and keep running:D
Plus it's CA street legal!!!!!

it is kind of a pain in the butt if you switch between a stock and 320 rotor. i just use a 280 rotor for everything, makes the swap much simpler.

tops out at 85ish ( i got a ticket on it for 80). cruises very comfortably at 75 with 16/40 gearing. It's also not that viby at all by thumper standards, and it has a comfy seat. I commuted 10 miles to work or school, and the bike was ideal for that kind of daily riding. it also starts easy in 1-2 mellow kicks.
I have it set up so that all i have to do is swap out the front counter sprocket for dirt or track days, so i go down 2 teeth for that and run 14/40 gearing.

hey JJ, way to step up to the plate and start sticking the foot out! i know you felt slow, but it's amazing how fast the learning curve is on these things. You'll be backing it in in no time. it just starts happening naturally as you brake later and later, and get used to being high up/trusting the front tire.
do you have any pics from the day? I'll be heading back real soon. my goal is to clear the big table jump!
