Battery voltage

I know that the voltage is supposed to be 12v, but under normal riding conditions, isnt the voltage supposed to be somewhere between 13 and 15v? Or am I completely off base here ?

Nope. :D 13.6VDC with it running is good.

Alternator should put out a minimum of 14 volts when running.

12.5-12.7V full charge bike off...
14.1V @ 4000k rpm before the regulator chops it's down to 13.88V bike running...
