So I went ahead and had a dyno pull today so that I can get a baseline of what my motor was doing before I went and purchased a pipe. I was pretty happy with the results.

Everything is stock except the cams.
Stock intake, airfilter, jetting, stock pipe, everything when I made this pull.

Max HP was 73.03
Max Torque was 44.65

Bike always studdered around 5500rpm or so and the dyno sheet really shows that. Zoran helped with shimming the needles and it really smoothed it out. Thank you buddy.

Sweet man...nothing better than having your bike tuned properly, for smooth power delivery. Nice numbers too.

I would love to get my bike tuned right, it has a pc3 but I haven't had it on the dyno to get dialed in. I hear Lee's is the place to do it but I don't know anyone there. Used to have a great shop I used in Orlando called Full Spectrum racing...they tuned my 9r into a monster.

Jiggy, it would add to your post if you could post a picture of your dyno read-out. :p

What dyno you use does a lot. You can get a dyno to say your SV puts out 120BHP.

This is true, it all depends on the temp that day and the elevation, humidity and all that crap. When you get a dyno run you need to make sure that you use the same dyno after the mods to keep it consistent.

But as far as my HP figures being fairly high for a almost stock bike I would agree. But I still don't have any problems passing sv's with just a pipe down the straights. :D

Mike, I think maybe your sleeper pipe had something to do with the good numbers :)

So did you enjoy the extra 10 seconds or so Z was able to massage out of your bike after the removal of your horn? :D

You take your current intake cam and put it on the exhaust side and buy the '03 intake cams and put them in on the intake side. Best $200 bucks spent.

Great results for a almost stock SV! Got 73,2 HP with my stock '03, so you're very close. :D

That cam mod sounds very interesting. I intend to buy an old model SV to turn it into a track bike to.

I've heard of that, do you know if it is lift / profile or just cam timing? Which would mean you could get the standard ones dialled in?

it is lift/profile.

It is duration and lift that is different. The timing is pretty damn close to stock.

Just wondering where the power improvement is. Most mods to the SV seem to improve the mid-range, is this more of the same? Can you post the dyno chart?

I don't have a scanner or a camera worth a shit to take a pic. From the chart it looks like it was pulling hard form just under 6K through a little over 9K.
