I am very happy with the result, what do you think?
Later,

looks great! and the ability to keep the stock turn signals is a huge bonus. I really want to clean up the rear end of my bike, but I don't like the reduced visibility of flushmounts or those mini blinkers. this is perfect.
I initially wanted a color matched undertail..but the black abs is growing on me..

I would also paint that bolt black. It kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

Looks really cool=D>
But yes it would be nice to color that scew end so it doesn't show up so much.
Mr. Burst, do you have a suggestion on how to cover that thing up?

Looks nice! Question I have though is...Can't you get a ticket if you don't have a license plate light?

Since the general consensus is that the bolt is too bright I will order the black anodized bolt/washers instead of the bright finish. That was just what I had already and it worked well.
Tim, I will get you the revised bracket for the plate when I get the first batch cut. I will also get one of the black bolts for you. Thanks for all your help and letting me use your bike as the test on that bracket.
Everyone else, I am hoping to have the license plate brackets ready to go by the end of the week. Tho I am not sure exactly when they will be ready, I need to get all the details worked out. As soon as the brackets are ready we are set to go.

Yes, you can get a fix it ticket for no plate light. Tho, it is not likely. I got a fixit ticket for no signals. (had no plate light at the time) When I put signals back on the bike to have the ticket signed off, I still had no plate light. The officer wrote, "The vehicle is compliant with vehicle lighting regualtions" on the paperwork.
If all else fails try these.

Gregg,
How difficult would it be to powdercoat the license plate bracket? I don't think it's worth it if it jacks up the price of the pieces, or makes it a lot harder..but if it's a relatively simple process, it could be cool to have the plate bracket be black to match the rest of the undertail.
I'm definitely in for one.

the final brackets are going to be made out of aluminum. I am not sure how much they would cost if I had to take all of the brackets to a shop and have it(powdercoat) done. Would look nice yes. Am I going to offer it? no.
Thanks for the suggestion tho.

Well if your making them out of aluminum, I figure annodizing would be a better way to go than powdercoating.. Faster and easier at least.

Excellent pics in the gallery.
I think it really cleans up the back end of the bike.
A body matched or carbon fiber hugger would complete the look. That over sized chain guard really sticks out now.
Does Brad have them made now? How 'bout the bracket? Someone cut them out them for him? Or are they still one-off?

I've been wanting to get rid of my fender (damn, it's bigger than the bike!), and been very reluctant to give up my turn signals!
I'm of the school that I like flashing lights to catch the eyes of the operators of the large metal boxes traveling amongst us.
I've almost hacksawed off a good portion below the signals, but it just looks graceless. This manages to keep the giant turn signals, and still look like the fender designer and the bike designer actually spoke to one another! Unlike what I suspect happened at the Suzuki factory.
Nice piece,

Here's another kind of license plate light to consider if you purchase Burst's undertails. Found this on the svrider board.

"When the standard lights are removed the illumination they provide for the license plate is lost."
Hmm... I wouldn't have thought of that.

Hey Greg, what's the final price going to be? I'd like to get one before I take my bike to the track on Dec 7th. Let me know the price and if it'll be available before that.

they will be $100 shipped to your door. If you can pick on up(either my place or my fathers place in SD) then I will take $10 off.
They will be ready before then. Just a few loose ends to tie up.

Gregg,
I am for sure interested in an undertail now that I've decided not to go with a solo tail. Let me know if you have any left and where to send payment.
Posted pics of my undetail, too. Looks good, but I think I need to go back and drill a couple of holes for the screws at the back. I also slapped the rear Buell signals on while I was at it. :D

I'm interested in an undertail. Does the battery box need to be cut and the battery raised for your undertail to fit like some other undertails?
Thanks!

You didn't give him enough time. He'll need approximately 18 months before removing the lights from the package and then another 4 months before installing it. Tack on another 3 weeks before he posts the pictures.
;)

Got it wired up, but I haven't decided how to mount it. Small as it is, it does look a little obvious stuck to the bottom of the undertail, just above the plate.
I've thought about mounting it inside the undertail and cutting a slot for it to shine through, but I think I may have mounted the plate too far back, not leaving myself enough room inside the tail. I'll have to pull the tail off again just to check, so I'm kind of leaning toward just sticking it on with some heaving duty double sided tape.
It's not a really big priority right now, though, since the tail light illuminates the plate decently, anyway. Whatever I decide on, I'll post pics just as soon as I have it on.
