View Full Version : Good Online Vendors for SV Parts?

I'm trying to find a good online vendor for some parts like spark plugs, clutch/brake levers, etc. I've heard some horror stories about AZ Motorsports, which would have been my first choice. Any other good suggestions?
Being without a bike for the impending 4-day weekend really sucks! Why can't anyone stock a simple rearset? Okay, I'm done ranting.
Thanks!

This is a weekend that I'm not planning any rides. I've got two thoeries...
1) All the cops will be on freeways looking for drunks, which means the twisties will be deserted (not likely)
or
2) The cops will be out in FORCE everywhere, and just as crazy or more so in the twisties than on other weekends...
Either way it means I can't speed on the freeway by too much due to cops, or I can't ride fast in the twisties due to cops. Either way, not fun...

Good point Brad! The holiday weekends do tend to not only bring out the cops but also crazed holiday travelers also! Imagine large SUV's and RV's packed with screaming kids - or people in a hurry to make it to the airport - or people in a hurry to make it to the barbecue - of course, everyone will be talking to someone on a cellphone, because there must always be SOMEone out there to talk to!
(shudder!)

Spark plugs: Buy them from your local motorcycle or auto parts shop. NGK CR8E costs about $5-6 each.
Levers: Any Parts Unlimited/Lockhart Philips dealer would have/order Lockhart Philips replacement clutch or brake levers for $5-6 each.
Rearsets: If you want aftermarket ones ("rearsets" -- further backward and up than stock "brackets"), I heard Woodcraft (http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/rearsets.html) makes nice/affordable ones (which is also the ones I bought). You know, other Suzuki models' (pre-'01 gixxer 600s?) footpeg bracket may fit the SV's. My friend is selling this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1840590555). Otherwise, you'd have to go to your Suzuki dealer. My local one gives me 15% discount on parts. I'd rather buy them locally than pay for shipping/hassle.
For some other things, I've had good experience buying them cheaper online from kneedraggers.com, mawonline.com, chaparral-racing.com, parts411.com and on ebay. I've been lucky I guess.
Hope that helps! And don't forget to check out the Shops List:

Well I found the stock rearset at Suzuki/Honda of Hollywood. Charged me full price ($54.32) but they were the only dealer I found with it in stock. Also bought NGK CR8E's from them for $2.81 each!
I ordered the Lockhart Phillips clutch and brake levers from AZ Motorsports, who will have to order them. I called and talked to a lady on the phone who seemed nice and knowledgeable, so I just went with them. Hopefully everything works out okay.

You just have to be EXTREMELY PATIENT.... They do seem to take their time with things..... All in all if I had to, I would order from Arizona Motorsports again, but only if I did not need the parts right away. Just make sure to confirm part numbers to prevent improper parts from shipping. 3 of the 10 items I orderd were not right.

I dealt with an outfit in Holland for my plastics and was very happy with the results. The firm is Tech-Line (http://www.tech-line.nl/eng/index2.html) and I got my TCP stuff from them. TCP is the (Spanish) firm that makes the Suzuki lowers and other accessories you see in the Suzuki catalogue. TCP outfitted the SVs that were in the bike shows last November in the UK.

Arizona Motorsports came through just fine. I received my clutch and brake levers on 7/3, just two days after I ordered them. I also received the K&N filter today. They have been great and their shipping method, Airborne Express, is very quick. The levers came the day after they were shipped!
So I can give a vote of confidence for my experience with AZ Motorsports.
