The rear brakes on ym SV are squeaking. I have only put 2000 miles on the bike, so I don't see how the pads could be worn down yet.

The only similar thread I've found in doing a search was this one:

I have noticed that the weather has been colder here lately. Been riding in 50-60 degree weather instead of 60-80 degreee weather. Could the air-temperature be affecting it?

I noticed the brakes squeaking in slightly warmer weather and the squeaking would stop after riding for awhile. But now, in this colder weather, the rear always squeaks when stopping.

I'm wondering if the weather-factor is a coincidence or if the pads are actually worn.

I have 15k miles on my bike and don't need brakes yet. That should put your 2k miles in perspective. My rear brake is nice and quiet, so there is something up w/yours. You'll need to visually inspect those pads. Sometimes little chips in the brake material can cause noise without hindering performance, tho unpleasant, and should be remedied.

I had the same on my (now sold) 2003 SV at 1500miles . I eventually changed the pads for some after market ones (got them from Cycle Gear, don't remember the brand) and problem solved.
