I just recently purchased a TRE and my gas light started to not work. The light turns on in the guage cluster when i trun the bike on...but it does not seem to be getting a signal from the sender in the tank...n e one have similar results??

I don't understand the issue. Why do you say it's not getting a signal? Mine turns on with the gauge cluster, and it comes on when I'm low on gas. Are you saying that yours doesn't come on when your tank is close to empty? If you haven't run it past 120 miles, maybe you're just getting better mileage than you expected...
Describe your problem more explicitly and tell us what TRE you're using and how it was installed...

On my 650, Racinteachs TRE mod deactivates my neutral indicator light. But my bike seems to be the ONLY one that this has ever happened to as far as I can tell, and I have had no problems with the low fuel light.

Bummer. I have a plug-in TRE (no messing about with the wiring harness) and I have no issues. Did you have to strip wires and such to install? If so, you might have done some damage to the fuel sensor wire. #-o

no wire cutting...it was a direct plug in..??
Weird. Well, pull it out and run your tank down (this time paying attention to the trip odo :D) and see if the light comes on. If not, the trouble isn't with the TRE...

My guess is he accidentally disconnected something when he installed the TRE, it's fiddly under there.
When we took my tank off last weekend we noticed that some of the connections and tubes weren't fitted properly.

you get 170 miles per tank? Jesus. 139 is my best. Should I be doing some kind of modification?

Sounds like the fuel indicator switch got disconnected. The TRE has nothing to do with the low fuel light.
As for the neutral light, the blue wire must not be connected. I built and installed a TRE for KAZ, the only two wires affected during the install are the pink and black wires. If the blue wire is disconnected, the neutral indicator lamp will be inoperative.

Im not sure if its just that the sv1000s is just damn efficient for a 1000cc bike, or its my riding, but i get between 43-47mpg. in the last 24.5k miles the lowest gas milage i have gottenwas about 34, and that was hammering non stop while working as a courier. the best milage i have gotten was just recently on a Cure autism Ride, i had to ride with a buncha harleys so i was going about 55-65 the whole time....got 147 miles outa 3.0 gallons. i was even shocked. i know that you cant exactly tell how much fuel you are using because each time you fill up, it might not be exactly as full as previous fills, but i try to be as consistent as possible. Im always interested to see how my riding affects my mileage and its also a good way for me to monitor how well my motor is running. Even though my sv is regeared , i compensate that into my milage calculation.

LowSpdRider: I have the same experience. I get a very consistent 40-41 mpg during backcountry riding. I've gotten over 50mpg on long trips (slabbing) and as bad as 35mpg around town. I think that the motor is just really efficient in the higher RPMs and sucks it down off the start...
