Grab handle removal

Hey all,

I have a 05svs and I am installing the cover for the rear seat(the one that takes place of it) and wanted to remove the grab handle though. I have seen a couple pics of sv's with the grab handle removed, so I know it can be done. My problem is that the seat or the seat cover will not latch in place because it is normall held on the rear part by the grab handle...what do I do in place of that to make it stay?

If you bought a cover used it may not have come with the bracket to replace the one your handle has built into it what I have made is a new bracket using some flat stcok adn a small piece of rectangular tubing to make a new catch for the rear of the seat...and cover...it requires welding and drilling...personally I like the handle there so I can move the bike around and put it up on stands by myself...but it is an easy fix
