So this Femmoto thing the chicks get to go to every years sounds pretty rad. They get a cheap track day where they get to ride other people's bikes all day long! How great does that sound? These companies donate these "demo" bikes so the ladies can ride them and see if they like them (which they do - at least the really expensive ones) and get them to want to buy one. How many of these broads have you heard talk about how great the Kawasaki ZX-10R is?
So these companies are trying to market their bikes to women by letting them ride their bikes at a track day because they are trying to get in on this "fast growing" market of women riders. But what about their existing market, us guys? Shouldn't they want to try to retain their current clientele, or steal clientele from another brand? I can easily be considered a "Suzuki" guy, but getting the chance to ride a Yamaha R1 may make me want to buy one. I'll also be more apt to drop $11K on an R1 if I already know I'll like riding it. You don't know what you're going to get when you buy a bike you've never ridden before (Tom spent, like, $15 grand on a Ducati 749S to find out he doesn't like it. His superbike spec SV650 handles better, accelerates harder, and is all around better to ride so he's dieing to get rid of the Ducati so he can get another SV street bike).
So anyway, how many of my brothers out there are with me in saying we should get a "Femmoto" type day, too?
