bike fell off the stand in the garage and now it wont even crank. Only thing i can think of is the tip over sensor. Where is it located on a 2002 sv and how do you reset it??
Thanks

Check the little square electrical plug at the clutch lever pivot. Easy to knock loose when wrestling bike back up.

I believe they all have a safety of some sort..just check over all the connectors at the handlebars

no reset on them ... just pick up the bike and it's set ... if you had it laying too long then oil in the carbs can be the problem

Does the engine turn at least? if it does, try shaking the bike side to side. My friend does that everytime he drops his and doesn't wanna start.... always works
btw he always drops it because he stunts alot just fyi.

yes there is,...
cycle the run switch,....while the key is on, flip the switch from run, to off to run, then start it

i checked all of the conectors (clutch and others) and nothing works. When i turn the key on all of the lights work, but the bike does not start (not even crank or attempt to crank). Bike fell from rear spool stand to the right side and was on the ground for less than an minute before i lifted it back up. No damage to bike, other than my new custom front brake lever
I honestly can not think of anything else

it does not even crank ... connector at the clutch perch is not in or is broken
I'm assuming your in neutral so the kickstand switch is not an issue.
These two sensor are will prevent cranking of your starter.
Edit: if it's your kill switch (red button on the right) we will have to give you an IQ test before we will let you post here again. ;)

Is the kickstand down? and in gear? it wil not start if it's in gear and the stand is down for whatever reason...also cycle the ignition switch as mentioned above, pull the clutch side plug and look to make sure it is good to go ...

I have had the same thing happen to my bike before. I just had to wait a little while (5-10 min) and I would probably try the kill switch toggle trick as well while you are waiting.

Does any one know if the 2005 SV650 naked actually has the tip over switch? I can't seem to get anything to allow my starter to work again since my bike was pushed over last week. It doesn't seem to be the clutch switch, so could it be a tip over switch?

yes the switch is in front of the battery on the right side if you are standing behind it..(near the shock) ...Make sure it's not in gear if the stand is down.
to check the clutch switch just jump the connector with a paper clip or wire..just to be sure.

Thanks racinteach, I'll look in to it tomorrow after work. Oh yeah good idea with shorting the circuit with a paperclip. Thanks again.
If the k5 has a TOS, then why was mine still running when I got to it last time I laid it down? It was laying on the left side, on the frame slider and bar. I had to kill it with the kill switch before I could pick it up, the rear tire was still spinning and it was idling in 3rd. Hrmmmm

Anyone one know exactly where the tip over sensor location is located on an 03 SV650s? If the sensor goes off, does that mean ALL electrical power goes off? My bike has no power at all and the battery and fuses are good.....

it is in front of the battery box just below the gas tank..on the right if you are standig behind the bike....

You should do a flip over the bike while juggling tennis balls, then it may work

Now, how would that help?
It's obvious that a human sacrifice is necessary.
The gods demand blood.
Seriously though, there be a bad wire (broken connection invisible inside of wire insulation), loss of ground, the switch itself could be damaged in the fall, etc Looks like you'd have to have the mechanics track down the problem at this point.
