I just upgraded my headlights to an HID system and LEDs for the marker lights. I know, I know... an HID conversion is very expensive. I was recently hit by a daydreaming taxicab at low speed. For the most part my bike only sustained damage to the plastic bits (my pipe and radiator were damaged too). Since his insurance was paying and I was able to save a bundle by dropping an OEM pipe for a Yosh, I used the difference to fund further cosmetic upgrades that I normally wouldn't go for. There is allot to be said for replacing those nasty yellow headlights with performance bulbs (or an HID conversion for you rich folk). I would suggest any performance bulb with a color output around 5000K (plus or minus a couple hundred K). Piaa ($$$) and Luminics ($) are both really good performance bulbs with options in this color range. You'd be amazed at how the street pops at night with this upgrade that improves visability for you and nice clean icy look to your setup.
The reason I am writing this is because I just replaced my parkers with a pair of 194 replacements that have a six LED super bright white cluster (12 bucks delivered from Vleds.com). I highly suggest doing this cheap upgrade ($60-$80 for bulb and leds). It is simple and it really sets off the beauty of the SV's lighting.
Sorry for the long post... but I am blown away with the looks of the bike after this makeover.
