View Full Version : Oh No! brake fluid leaking around threads
So I installed galfer SS brake lines, added new fluid flushed and what not. Unfortunately when I put the system under pressure brake fluid is slowly leaking around the threads of the left hand bleeder valve on the caliper :(
people have mentioned using teflon tape around the threads, is that a good idea?

don't use teflon tape on the bleed screws.
First make sure its tightened down enough. I know its obvious but its gotten me before. If it still leaks pull the bleed screw out and make sure there is no dirt/grime in the bottom of the hole. The bottom of the bleed screw has to make a seal, and dirt can get in the way. You could also try replacing the bleed screw, they are pretty cheap.

had the same problem and as MotoDave said no teflon, thread lock etc just get a couple of new ones as MotoDave said, maybe i should just have written "i second MotoDave" but that would have been to easy
