A few of you guys probably have bought tires, gears, upgrades and other suff from me, other that don't know me....I sell motorcycle STUFF at competitive prices.

I don't know if it's a good time, but I'd like to start a raffle and here's some detail:

$5 raffle ticket via Paypal or check/money order

Prize: A free rear street tire of any kind any size (non-race)

or

$100 certficate that you can use toward anything you buy from me at an already discounted price

Shipping not included

All proceeds (minus Paypal fees) will go to the owner of SoCalSVRiders.org

I'm thinking running this for a month, then I will randomly pick a lucky winner

Of course, I'll need a greenlight from the administrator, but other members please chime in as well

I think it's a grand idea!

Should we take the deafening silence from the Site Overlords (:p) as tacit approval?

it's a shame, I've been on this forum for over 4 years, and I don't know who owns the site!!

Can someone whisper his/her ID in my ear~

There's no "owner". Our server sits in a UCSD graduate studies computer room or something like that. As long as we don't try to make money/turn a profit off this site, our bandwidth is free.

Jarasco is the one who receives the "webmaster" e-mails. Monte also does technical stuff with the site. Sandie, Joose, Burst, etc. do a lot with organizing events. And I'm the PR guy. :D

Well...that makes this even more meaningful since I just graduated from UCSD this past June!

Okay....what happens to the fund after it is raised?

It goes straight into my pocket. :D

No, just kidding. Sandie doubles as our treasurer, too, but for this people can paypal straight to the site like they did for the Starcom1 raffle. Let me PM you.

it goes into a bank account, and we use it for future events (i.e. the gathering, refreshments for the trackday)...or future hardware purchases (if necessary...we haven't had to purchase hardware for a while, knock wood)

the site really isn't designed to be a profit machine for a group or individual, but more of a not-for-profit, "free" community...the donations help to save money for when we need it

It's probably just a matter of time at this point. So is the second coming, the day we commute via flying go-karts, the discovery of unlimited, renewable and cheap fuel... :p

So, uh, hopefully this raffle will get posted onto the front page in another day or so. It's not something I can myself. I've been asking Jared to work on other stuff as well, so he's been busy with that (along with his real life job ;) ).

Anyway, in case you haven't noticed because of the difficulties to the front page, the raffle is up and going. It will last through the end of the month. A $5 ticket gets you the chance to win a rear street tire or a $100 gift certificate from HyperRev Moto.
