These are some old videos of us cruising up and down Palomar tight-side (9/20/02) that I just uploaded. If you're bored, can't ride, want to see what Palomar looks like, might be interesting (more interesting than the ones above).
Right click, "Save As..." to save it to your computer before opening it with your favorite WMV video viewer.

Paul, what's your setup? What kinda camera and what mount do you use?
Camera mount:

Camera:
Panasonic PVD400(?) MiniDV
Thanks. It'd be cool to get some Palomar/Borrego footage this year.

Paul,
My kind of reality show!
I only looked at the first one, (will study ALL of them eventually) and I'm fascinated by the lean angles you show. I'm slowly getting used to them with my riding, but am starting to realize I probably should get M-1 Sportecs.
My question is: would you be comfortable with those angles on the stock M-4's?
I'm still trying to see what I can do with them, and wonder how much better tires would jump start my learning "curve."

I have stock tires, haven't had any problems, but the way they wear is kinda wierd. others are telling me i need to get better tires. I am starting to think I will.

Are you leaning that much with your current tires?
I'm still not sure what I can get away with. I'm not in a hurry to dump the bike tho.

The second set (http://www.socalsvriders.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=20963#post20963) is more fun to watch. Still at a cruising-pace, and pretty slow, compared to other SV peeps here. The videos are pretty embarassing. They are there just for your comedic enjoyment.
I was on my stock M-4's in the first set of videos; Sportecs in the 2nd set of videos. At first they don't feel so different, but eventually you'll wonder how you ever got by without better tires.

Shit! I need to practice a LOT more before I piss money away on new tires then.
Glad I asked.
Makes those videos all the more valuable, Paul...

Paul,
Just looked at the 16MB Sabre/sparks video. Much more lean angle. Was that with M-4's or with M-1 Sportecs?
Pat,
You can lean over far enough on MZ4s to scrape your peg-feelers.
Yo Paul,
I'll have to compare your lean angles to my lean angles.
I'm getting a message saying that I can't download. Is that just because someone else is trying to at the same time?

OK, then I'm sticking to what I have, and practicing my ass off.
Following you, Troy, would be good!

Strange... which video are you trying to download? The ones here aren't on the videos.socalsvriders.com ftp.
Ok.. quit asking questions about my stupid Palomar videos and bumping it up. It's hella embarrassing, can't I just let this thread die?

Trust me, I'm not that fast. I expect to see a stalled car or massive rockslide around every blind corner...:o

Paul they AREN'T stupid!
I don't know shit about what this bike can really do, and your vids are really great to watch.
Almost as good as "Cowgirls In Chains."
I didn't know how capable the SV was until I rode with an elderly gentleman and his wife in Borrego.
He was riding as fast as I was with his wife as passenger. Now I have no excuse. :D
He had GSX-R forks, a slip-on, and a Penske rear shock.
It's all about the rider...and in his case, passenger too.
