Hey fellow SVers,

I've recently moved to the Venice and Santa Monica area and trying to find the basic things any human needs to survive in life. Specifically things like:

Rotella Synthetic gallon jugs
Hi-Flo Filtro oil filters
METRIC bolts/nuts/washers
cheap tire mounting

It looks like Wal Mart/Kmart type places are pretty rare around here, and the metric fastener section at the local Home Depot is as anemic as usual. Can anyone give me some good hints or recommendations?

Much appreciated!

Thanks man! There was this awesome place called Belmont Metric when I was in NorCal - they had any metric hardware or fastener you could IMAGINE. sigh...

Any other Venetians around? Where are you folks getting your Rotella and tire changes?Originally posted by curley

I got my last two tire changes done in San Diego because of the ridiculous prices here - Hammy boys wanted $180 for a rear tire. I said "Nah, that's okay thanks". If you have called around to all the local bike shops already, you might try Cycle Gear in Woodland Hills - not exactly local I know but you can get good deals when they have their sales.

If you find anywhere decent, please share....

$180 for a rear tire?!?!?!?!?!? Please don't tell me that was for a Z4 or a D220. Nuts...:(Originally posted by bristolbird

Thanks a bunch, guys! This board is great. I'm going to call that autozone and ask if they have the synthetic rotella.

Oh, and acer66 - how ya like that front end?

There were a couple of suggestions for hardware in this (http://www.socalsvriders.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=16337&highlight=metric+bolts) thread. Being a geography-challenged, I don't know if any of them are near Venice, though. :)

Good luck!
