View Full Version : Most painful ride yet.

So last night at 1am, I had my most painful ride yet.

It was coming back from my Hockey Game. But let me back up a little bit.

3rd period, few mins left and I'm playing defence. Their forward gets the puck and begins to wind up for a slapshot from the top of the circle. I'm ripping around from behind the net and decide to lay down to block the shot... I cover my face with one hand but didn't get my second hand down fast enough over my cup.

...

...

...

I don't even know if the puck even touched my cup, all I know is in that 'position' I was hanging a little 'low' and not totally protected. Slap shot straight to the balls.

I think I laid in the ice for about 5 mins trying to locate my boys, it's been 12 hours and I still think they're up somewhere around my rib cage.

Putting an ice cold beer on 'em in the dressing room helped a bit, but it was the ride home after the game that was the worst (after the initial hit that is)

I think that's the last time I'm going to lay down to block a shot for a godamn beer league. I'm just hoping they drop back down to where they should be, before sunday for the Mulholland group ride.

teh worst part was, the blocked shot was SOOOO NOT NEEDED. we were up 7-2!!!

so it made the pain that much worse that really it didn't mean shit whether they scored or not.

I just woke up from a 4 hour nap this afternoon. I think one of 'them' dropped. :D

Formerly healthsouth training centre, now it's called Toyota Training centre. I'm fairly confident it's the best facility in SoCal that you can play on and not be in the NHL or farm teams. In fact this is where the Kings practice. They take such amazing care of this place it's amazing. Like last night walking out and they have 2 guys washing and replacing the glass, one guy walking around the edge of the ice with a chipper making sure everything is flat. You just don't get that kind of service at any other public rinks.

I think there's about 5 games left in the winter season, so if you want to join for the summer season, look into it NOW!!!
I play SIlver B on sun/mon and Silver A on wed.

I heard of a kid once, that got a wedgie, and one of his gonads unraveled down his leg.

The moral his.. Protect your boys man... Protect them....

That said.. I'd sell mine if I could! As long as they could be replaced with brass ones or somethin!

A Kid at my old HS got hit in the nuts with a baseball. Lost one of them and the other swelled up to the size of a grapefruit.

It stayed like that for almost a year. He had to carry a drainage bag around with him or it may have burst...

The worst part is, I went to a Catholic High School...so uniforms were required. Those khakis did not have much give in the croach area as it i was.

Looked like he stuffed an infant in his pants everyday....poor kid.

*I think he is a serial killer now...guess I'll have to wait for the 10 year reunion to be sure*

Sorry about your boys, but at least they came home.

i was learning to play hockey at Disney Ice in Anaheim.. that stopped when we played a game of pick up with the 5 yr olds and they kicked our asses.:o

not having the gift of the testes, I can not imagine your pain.... but i am sure it felt similar to the time when as a little girl i took my bro's bike out (couldnt even touch the ground).. you know the kind with that "boy bar" and had to break hard.. i could of sworn that i had impaled myself.
