View Full Version : K&N pod filters
I have read all the ups and downs to the K&N pods, and am going to set this up on my bike. Due to my job, I can get about anything from them at cost (employee discount), soooo....anybody know what the part number is for the pod filter application that fits the gen1 SV650 (I already know they are a universal application filter).
Thanks, Justin

Then you've probably read about Zoran's R&D regarding pod filters on SVrider.com? It's really interesting. I think he ended up using 220 main jets or something!
Yeah, it was very helpful...though I think I missed if he listed the part # or not. I think he mentioned 215 mains for the rear carb and 220 front....huge either way. I figure since I can get em fairly cheap its worth a shot.
the ones I used are 4x4 angled 5 degree.
Zoran,
I got 2"x8" Unifilters for the new SV. I pushed the spring up about 2" inside the filter, and stretched the bottom over the airhorn/velocity stacks, then clamped them with cable ties. I then sprayed them very, very lightly with WD40.
Bike ran smooth and clean at Willow 2/6 TrackDaz with your last jetting. I'll try to get on the L&L dyno in two weeks.
You did wonders for this engine, it is very smooth and predictable, with amazing power. The front end suspension is fantastic. Twin Works "Magic" Factory?
Any suggestions on what I've done or not done?
Congrats again on your two wins at Cal Speedway 2/5.

oops, I've got 41mm flatsides. Thinking you may be talking about stock carbs.
sounds like you like your new bike :D

Steve, this is not what I wanted to see. I have been sitting at home doing nothing, while my competition is out getting tracktime and upgrading bikes.

Don't be too worried about it. The frame, swingarm and gas tank are still stock.
Just throwing a little fuel on the fire:

That reminds me of Jiggy's bike. His looks like a pumpkin, too.

That's WSMC. Willow Springs Motorcycle Club.
All work on that bike was done by either me or TWF. If it's weird and poorly planned, it was me. If it works and makes the bike better, it was by TWF.

It's hard to make out the "C" on that sticker. To see it close up and in person, it'd make more sense.

Ahhhhh, this bike almost makes me feel like a motorcycle racer.
Tom, you missed a beautiful, mostly warm and sunny day. Oh, and seeing me go faster and more consistently than ever before.
The bike is amazing to ride. Power, braking, handling are smooth and predictable. It's a big, big step up from an SV turned race bike in someones garage.
I felt so good riding the bike I'm going to try to win last place in BOTT MW this month, and if noone crashes or stalls badly on the starting line, I know I can do it.:o
To eeeeek and Z cheers!
