Another cold event similar to last months except we had rain in the early morning. Rain quit, track began to dry out, traction returned, all was good. It was pleasant in the morning with sunshine but as usual, became windy later.

I raced my usual two classes: Lightweight Novice and Middleweight Novice.
In the Lightweight Novice class I'm riding just for the racing. I won't win points or credit but there can be some close racing. I figured I'd start on the last row and pull off at the end of the white flag lap so as not to take the checkered. It was fun, I started well, ran in 2nd place most of the race, dropped to 3rd in my last lap, pulled off on the white flag lap.

In the Middleweight class, I got a second row position 7 gridding so I thought I could try for a good run to T1. Didn't happen, got into T1 in midpack. I worked my way around the track and by the exit of T9 I was quickly becoming a backmarker. That didn't happen so I finished 15th out of 16 starters. To make me feel better, I did not get lapped and my laptimes dropped some. I had fun but thought my lap times were better in the first race for some reason (they weren't)

So that's it! That was my 4th WSMC Novice race. Maybe I can move out of Novice after next race. See you then!

Good SHIT! I wonder if adding a nitro pill to the fuel tank ala "..Fastest Indian" would help "the old girl" ahahaha!

Hi Charlie,

I'm still out here in the desert, occasionally piloting the /5 around. Trackdays are a regular affair for me, but the ride of choice is currently a 1990 GSXR 750.

The new family hot-shoe is actually the kid, he's racing a 2003 SV 650 this year, that's what brought me to this board. Aron started racing last season on a 1989 FZR 400. He came home with some first place wood on his first outing and ended up the year by winning two class championships with CCS SW.

This season he's riding as an Expert on the SV. It is a big change from the FZR, but he still managed a third place finish in Supersport on this season's first race weekend. I'm not sure that I was ever as fast as Aron already has become.
