Gotten numerous request to add a "chat" thing. So there it is on the homepage! http://www.socalsvriders.com Let me know if there are any problems, or any slowness of page loading as a result of this addition. I am sure there are many bugs in my hack (Computer Science wasn't my major!).

I don't suppose the Shout Box has a language editor like so many other websites? Maybe we should as people to not be all like FUCK andSHIT! RAPE MY ASSHOLE! and stuff like that to not offend any guests to the site.

Hey it works now!
Note for Mac users, you may want to try using the latest IE, version 5.1. I had 5.0 and I couldn't see the chat text but now that I upgraded I can see it. Cool.

...Is it possible for the "chatter box" to be moved higher?.....
...it's too freakin low.........and I constantly have to scroll down to check it..........and often I forget........therefore....I end up missing stuff.......

...the position of the box was too low before.........and now Paul was kind enough to move it up higher.......so we don't have to scroll down to see who is saying what........

By request, you can expand the Chatter Box into its own page by clicking on the "big" link (between "history" and "smilies", cuz nobody reads the "help" so it's been replaced by "big").
It has a larger scroll back buffer (60 lines) instead of 15, and easier to read. Most of the "chat" applications on other websites are Java based, or constantly refreshes, which kinda sucks imho... Welp, you've seen it here first (hopefully) -- dynamically refreshing chat using only Javascript.

Does anyone else have a problem with Internet Explorer 6.0 crashing when you click a link off of the homepage (happens randomly, maybe 1 in 25 links) Only started happening after the chatterbox was added.
If I were to guess it is not the chatterbox itself, but microsofts XMLHTTP class that it uses.

I heard the same problem from another user. Apparently there's a fix somewhere in this thread:

I made a change to the doctype header just now, because another page (http://www.mail-archive.com/macie-talk@lists.letterrip.com/msg00025.html) advises that it may fix the problem... wonder if it makes any difference. Any suggestions, doub1etap?
