On Saturday, I worked my final Corner Worker requirement and I worked in Turn 9 this time. That experience helped because I was able to see a better line through t8-9 that I was able to use later. I reviewed my race history later that afternoon with Larry Cochran and on Sunday I was able to race expert races since now I'm a Probational Expert.

I'd been having battery trouble on Matilda (that's the name I use for my '03 SV) and had to push start her on Sunday. When my first race, Race 2, started Matilda wouldn't 'til I finally got it started after the warm-up lap. I got to the pre-grid just as our group, Formula Twins L/W had left the line and I didn't get released from pre-grid until the 2nd wave 500 Singles left. I got past a lot of those guys and finished 15th which scored me last in our class. What fun!

Next came Race 10, 550 Superbike. I was gridded pretty much deadlast and finished in the same place. The race was uneventful except the wind in t-8 was pretty horrific. I was pretty happy with that race and I didn't get lapped by anyone in my class.

Lap times are same even though I felt like I was going faster. The wind had a lot to do with that. Looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me. Thanks to the site for your support!

I know you're just looking us over while you plan your attack to the front, Charlie. :D

I'm thinking it takes seat time to get used to the wind, as when my bike is moving around and I'm expecting to find myself in the horizontal position momentarily, twisting on the throttle harder isn't the first to come to mind. Do you use earplugs? I don't, but from what I've seen, most riders do, and it may help block the distracting wind noise.

See you next month!

That's exactly why I wear the ear plugs. You don't feel like you're going as fast when you don't hear the wind.

Yeah-
I wear earplugs, keeps my brains from jumping out.:)

Earplugs do help you keep the noise level down. Plus I can hear myself think!
