I went and saw DareDevil last night at a press screening....wan't as bad as I tought it would be, but I went with very low expectaitons. I would have been miffited if I had paid to see it. There where a few cool effect, but it was like they we're tring to combine Batman, Spiderman & The Matrix to make one very mediocre movie.
Man do I hate Ben Afalec(OR HOW EVER YOU SPELL HIS LAST NAME), how the hell does he keep getting parts. He not a great actor but he is in like 5 movies a year. He must have the best agent in Hollywood. OK, thats my little comic geek rant for this year.:D

Electra was cool, but she was in such a small part in the movie...almost all her scenes where in the previews.:-s

Bah... Oh well, I never really was into daredevil anyway, and my exposure to electra is through an encounter she had with wolverine...

Hell, I guess my daredevil exposure is primarilly through the ninja turtles, come to think of it.

...you know.....

...it seems like common mistake Hollywood makes regularly....

...in their effort tryin to make the movie tres hip....or to increase the coolness factor........and forget about the bread and butter........(as in.... the story and characters.......you know, the insignificant stuff).......that they end up with a bad or mediocre movie.....

...now a good example of an excellent use of coolness and special effects......without sacrificing the story and characters.....is "Aliens"....the second movie...

...the characters interaction and development in that movie was awesome.........and it is this......that makes you give a shit about them.......and keeps you interested......along with the actions....

...the same goes for books.....

X-Men had Bryan Singer, who was a respected director that understood the audience and that he was walking into a well established world. He knew that you do not mess with these characters.

Spiderman had Sam Raimi, who is himself a comic fan. I only had my doubts about its transition to the screen when I found out that they got rid of the artificial webs and changed his mutation.

LotR has Peter Jackson, who also was a big Tolkein fan and was dedicated to doing it right. They tied in to the fanbase during the filming, to put the rest of the world at ease, and they've done a damn fine job...

DareDevil has who directing? I don't know. I've seen nothing about the making of... A visit to IMDB reveals that the director also directed Jack Frost, Simon Birch and the Grump(y/ier) Old Men movies... Well, if I'd have known that, I could have told you it sucks.

For those of you who also are tired of seeing Ben Affleck all the time, check out this site: www.nomoreaffleck.com .
Or don't check out nomoreaffleck.com, cause that site seems to be broken today. It is really funny, though. (edit: it's working again)

Just What is the Allure of Ben Affleck? (http://www.time.com/time/sampler/article/0,8599,127977,00.html)

We should be directing these questions to my fiancee... She'd drop me in a second for Ben...

I'd have to console myself by picking up J-Lo on the rebound... Mmmm... Ghetto booty :D

I saw this yesterday. Wasn't too bad. I thought Ben Affleck kind of sucked, but he wasn't too terrible.

Never was into the comic book but am a huge fan of Zatoichi (The Blind Swordsman) and thought the explanation and way the showed it as kind of a ray(gay)dar was kind of cool.

I can't see Affleck in a film and not miss Jay & Silent Bob...

Jay & Silent Bob Strikeback, now there was a cinimatic acheivement.

I took my 12 and 14 year sons last weekend. I was amazed by the number of parents that brought their 3 to 6 year old kids to a pg13 movie.

I liked it. Affleck wasn't baaad. Looked like Jennifer Garner was holding back a lot during the fight scenes.

I was disappointed that they didn't show the goo dripping down into the sewers onto splinter and the ninja turtles... ;)

Besides, its for a sociology experiment on multicultural vices found in largely populated areas confined within the standards of instilled traditions and todays popular neo-carnal underworlds. really.

The scene where Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck fought on the playground sucked ass.

It looked like Ben Affleck's fight training consisted of a quick scan through Kung-Fu For Dummies.

carver - I've been watching R rated movies since I was a kid, and I turned out juuust fine. ;)

PunkBrad - so, you've got to be looking forward to X-Men 2, right? Kelly Hu's in it! :D

Afleck is OK in my book. He has to be doing something right if J. Lo. gives it up to him.

I dug the movie big time. Ben was fine. Jennifer was Jennifer. I like the special effects for his hearing and sight.
Saw OLD SCHOOL tonight- that was a totally riot.
When I was younger I had wished I were a guy, this kinda brought that back. No not really, being a chic rocks.

Freud would say that you have penis envy, that's okay though because having one is great! Next to my bike, it's my favorite thing I have.

Kelly Hu's pretty hot...for an asian chick. :D She was in The Scorpion King, and I think I remember seeing her on the cover of Maxim. I think she's hotter than Lucy Lu, but judge for yourself:
