wow, I went into this with very low expectations thinking just another kids flick... but man, what a great experience.
Heard about "The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe" long before this, but never read it. Looks like It's something I will have to pick up now. Such a terrific movie.

I read the book as a kid as well as the rest of the books. The current print of the books puts them in a different order then how they were originally released, which is kinda weird. Anyways, I loved all the books (they are kids books - like junior high level) and I loved the movie 'cause I started to remember the story and all of the little details as I watched the movie. And I started to remember the other books as well. I can't wait to see the future movies!

I'm definitely not C.S. Lewis fan, but the movie looks interesting....

The funniest thing I remember about this movie is that the "epic" battle took about 2 pages..maybe 1 in the book.
When I heard the movie was coming out, I decided I wanted to read the book first. Took maybe half a day.
After reading the battle scene, it had a very....I don't know..cliffnotes type feel to it.
Good vs. Evil meet on the battlefield. Good wins, done.
I remember thinking..well..at least the movie will be able to embellish that part quite a bit w/o anybody complaining about it not being true to the book.

I loved this series of books and have read all 7 several times. They're a fun read.
The movie is good and expands some on the book (as the book isn't very long). The one thing that really disappointed me about the movie was Aslan. In the book he's always described as being a breath-taking creature because he's supposed to be like Jesus/God. He's also supposed to be huge - like the size of an elephant. Actually, all Narnia animals are supposed to be a little bigger than regular animals per the books. The movie makers really missed the mark on that and it would have made things visually more stunning.
Oh well. I'll be ready to see Prince Caspian whenever it is made.
All right... I'll be the first one saying: GAY!!!!! Hated the stupid movie. My plants have more personality than these kids! This does not compare to LOTR and HP at all. Straight to video!

I enjoyed the movie very much. I read the book when I was in 4th grade (well, we read it in class), and my daughter is just finishing up 4th grade and we went together to see it when it came out in the theaters. I guess there was a bit of a nostalgia thing going on for me. I thought the kids did a good job in their parts (remember, they're British, they're supposed to be boring!) and the FX were pretty impressive, but generally, its just a very good story.

 I've not seen the movie, but this review tickled me, as did Lardoggy's "(remember, they're British, they're supposed to be boring!)" comeback.

Great job I give you that. Landscapes what? leftover form Dickens' light-post with some fake snow mixed with scenes from "Mountains of Scotland, national geographic special". Make up what? you can see where the fake latex FX are peeling from the creature's face. story lien what? So you go into the closet and than come out of it and all this magical world with lions and unicorns will be open for you to explore.... Like my friend Cartman says "Totally gay!" ok.. so if they open a museum of bad movies this is only exhibit they need... well maybe also "Glitter"!
