I purchased a speedo off of Ebay and was told it was in miles. But when I hooked it up its in KM/H not MPH. I tried the adj button to change it to MPH but it won't change. When you first turn the key the speedo does the LCD test. Everything but where the MPH should be lights up. Can you guys that know there speedo does KM/H and MPH. Check to see when the speedo does the LCD test if the KM/H and the MPH both show when you know have it set to MPH.

I'm sorry to say that I believe the Suzuki speedos are either KMH or MPH, not switchable.
I bought an '02 Gixxer and was considering a Canadian import (better colors I thought) and the KMH speedo/odo/trip wasn't switchable. That wasn't why I didn't get the bike, but it was one consideration...
At least you'll get really good at multiplying numbers by .62138....
I may be wrong, however, this is just what I remember from 2002.

PS- found another thread dealing with speedo-error, and someone recommended the "SpeedoHealer" device, which also claims to be programable to correct KMH to MPH on the fly... but it's $100.

Well in the owners manual it says the you can switch back in forth using the adj button. But I think if your speedo is able to do so. During the LCD test on startup, it will show the MPH and KM/H on the screen.

no, you can switch it, i have accidentally switched mine a few times... on my 05 anywhoo.
read the manual, i think its as easy as pushing and holding the adjust button until you see it change.
on the startup the MPH KMPH both show on the screen, then the KMPH goes away, i bought mine in Cali. - i just went out to my bike and tested it..
sounds like your eBay seller was lame..
