To anybody who has experience on the GXSR swap, how different are these wheels? I have a GSXR axle, is there no way to fit this into my SV wheel? What is the difference in outter bearing race diameters? Could I go to a bearing with a larger interior race diameter, and just use my existing wheel, or is the whole GSXR hub larger?

You wanna fit the gsxr axle onto the SV wheel??? Not gonna happen...the rotors won't line up even if you do manage to make it fit by some miracle of engineering. You need the GSXR wheel, no question.

I've already found that the GXSR fork I have matches the dimentions of the SV1K fork, so I think there's some flexibility here. Plus, I'm not talking about the offset of the rotorhub, that can be dealt with when purchasing rotors. Although I'd love to find out the wheel hub width, as well as the outter bearing diameter.

Brian, my fork aint like yours. I got the non-bling 2002 GSXR standard fork.

Ed: got info I wanted on Bikebandit. Outter bearing diameter about 20mm off. Bummer for me. But the SV1000 has the exact same bearings plus wheel spacers. This may yet work!

I think it'll just be easier to get the gsxr wheel...there's some comfort in knowing that the parts are matched to what they're designed to.

with any luck, I'll get to test fit an SV1k wheel. They share specs on parts breakdowns, so I'll deal if it'll work.

You seem to have stumbled upon one of the SV1ks best kept secrets, the front end is the previous gen GSX-R600 fork/brakes, the last of the right-side-up-ers found on their supersport bikes.

I was going to post this a few days ago, that an SV1k front wheel would work, but forgot. I wanted to mention it because you could also get an SV1k top triple clamp and keep the tubular bar instead of going to clip-ons if you prefer.

Just a thought.
