I think we should do polls. I always look at that box on the home page that says "No polls available," and I always wish there was one so I could make my opinion known.

Opinion about what?

Let me share with you what a budhist monk told me once............ He said " Opinions are like assholes......... everybody has one..........and they all stink."

He was a wise man............. yes.........

Right on, thanks Paul. That is so cool.

I like to express my opinion about polls, and monks, and monks climbing poles...

I just thought it'd be fun to take little surveys of our SV populace. Like even start simple like "what color is your SV?" And then we'd have a cool chart with percentages and see how it breaks down.

We could survey on naked vs. faired, gas mileage, mods, miles ridden per week, etc. Same kind of stuff that gets asked in threads from time to time, but the poll makes it easier so more people will respond with minimal effort. And the results are neatly summarized, rather than having to page through endless threads and tally responses manually.

Doesn't anyone else think this would be a cool way to add some more fun interaction to our already cool site here? :D

Sounds good to me! You've volunteered yourself to be the moderator for the site polls. ;)

Woohoo! I've vaulted myself into a position of stature and influence in my community. Poll moderator. What does that mean? Do I have responsibilities, duties, chores?

I promise I will do my best to uphold the high standards of the office to which I have been appointed. :D

My first order of business, can we control which poll stays on the home page? Like if we want to have one main poll going for a week, it'd be cool if we could keep it up front for that time so everyone would have a chance to see it and participate.

I was playing around with the configs. I think the easiest way is to make the polls forum one with limited thread starting ability. And only mods can start a thread/poll, but anyone can add comments. Want me to do that so any new site polls have to be okay'd by you, the moderator, in order for it to show up?

Polls can be posted on other forums as well, but won't show up on the front page (though should show up when users click on "more polls" but I haven't tested it out).

That help?

Paul, that sounds like a good solution. Can you make it so? Thanks for doing this. I'll try to make the surveys always fun and interesting. I'm real curious to find out all about our SoCal group.

K... Other mods can post new threads/polls, but you can delete them or move them.
