It looks like he ran over a banana or something. I can't tell why that guy suddenly fell off his bike.

goosed the throttle while he hit that dirt patch.

I think he's pounding on the front brakes and loses the rear when it unloads. Engine braking or too much rear brake.

the smoke was from his front tire.... he let his ego get in the way and tried to pass that dude on the brakes. locked the front.

40-41 second mark, dirt in road right under his tires.
Nearly happened to me to on the 91-110S fwy interchange in LA, except with water. Goosed the throttle splitting/passing, back tires spun, side stepped a bit. luckily the sv has alot less horsepower or a sportbike or the same prolly woulda happened.

he forgot to tighten his chan, and it whipped-snapped up and kinked in the front cog, and locked the back tire? That happened to my brother on his old ninja 600 in the rain, he had on sweats and a t shirt, and his girlfriend was following him, and almost ran him over.. true story.

Locked the front and it tucked. Smoke started with the front tire. He counter steered to the right to get in front of the R6 and then back left to straighten the bike out just before the turn in and somewhere in there the front started to slide and he suddenly wasn't that good of a rider.

Crazy. Good reaction too, I may have hit the person who fell, being a noob and such.
damn. Yeah looks like he just messed up passing the guy and got the bike all crooked.

Monsterd00d, it looks like the rear may have locked instead of the front. I don't really see the countersteer action...just smoke and immediately he goes down. He was trying hard to move up one spot and braked too much following the pass.

Yeah, it looks like it pays to take your time and leap frog only in safe spots. That dude was obviously a little over competitive; he was overconfident about passing the guy and when he did he definately cut in hard while braking to avoid hitting the rider in front of him. It was probably the combination of locking the front and counter-steering to stay in front of the camera bike that made such a nasty dive possible. Kudos to the camera bike for staying on task and avoiding the bike and rider. That's not as easy as it looks, especially avoiding the bike.
