Hi all, I have a bone stock 2002 sv 650 nakid, and a buddy of mine has a 2002 or 2003 Yamaha r1 flame series, he just got new exhaust on his r1, and I was wondering if his old (stock)exhaust (muffler) would fit on my sv?? he said its titanium?? is it worth trying? what should I do

nope,
his system is designed to push way more air than an SV would produce, R1 is almost twice the displacement revving up 150% as high, would be a pain to make it fit too I'm sure.
Check out scorpion, they're cheap and sound real nice.
lots of us have them now

The answer is no. The can and the headers (bends and length) are designed to maximize exhaust gas extraction and reduce harmonic cancellation resulting in greater better exhaust gas flow. Harmonic cancellation occurs when the pulses from each cylinder are out of phase causing the gas flow to stop or eddy. ideally you want the pulse from one cylinder to help extract the gases from the other cylinder. Getting the exhaust gases out allows for more air and fuel in resulting in more ponies. A can designed for an in-line 4 will not provide for adequate back-pressure or gas extraction.

Hey it's not like they're not free...

I'm saving the government 3 bucks per euthanasia shot!

Easy, buy a sticker. If you don't like stickers, donate.
