WAS IT HOT!!! The heat took it's toll on me, that's for sure. I did have a great time. Did I mention it was HOT? WSMC management dropped the 8 lap races to 6 laps because of the heat. Not sure if that helped me or not.

My first race was Race #5, Formula Twins LW. This is the premier SV650/Ninja 650 Class. So I was on the third row, the flag dropped and...Where'd everybody go! I really botched my start and then just couldn't seem to pull it back together for the first lap. I put my head down and started trying get some good laps in before the fast guys started lapping me. So, as usual, I thought, another race where I'm working my way back to last place. I was hoping to break out of he 1:40s, but it turned out not to be the case

Race #6, was next, Formula 50. I'd never had a back-to-back race before, so I asked my pit crew to meet me in Pre-Grid with some water. Dustin met me with the water (after all it was Father's Day) and then I had to figure out how to get it into me...got a good taste of the water then poured the rest down my back. WOW! We were gridded in the front coupla rows of the second wave. I got a good start and ran with the crowd into T1. I botched an upshift before T2 and that was end of seeing the front runners in that class. My, my, some of those old farts run in the 1:28s. So I finished the race, and went back to my pit to relax and recharge. I finally was cooled enough to wander down to the club office to see my posted results! Holy S**t I got a 4th place in Formula 50! Then I see I got a 7th in FormTwins LW. Wow, that's really good for me!

So I had to wait until late afternoon for my last race, #17, 550 Superbike. I was still a little pumped from my previous races so I was shooting for a good start. Got it and ran into T1 with the faster riders. But soon, Matilda was "givin' it all she's got!" and the pack got ahead of me. I felt better after this finish where I ended up eighth. KK #1, passed me in T8 followed closely by someone in our class. I managed to keep KK in view and I passed the other rider (sorry didn't catch his number) in T8 and it stuck to Start/Finish! I had fun and even collected a few points for the weekend. It was freakin' hot! I thought I was gonna pass out after I got off Matilda and sat down. I didn't, but did I say it was HOT?

So all Top 10 finishes for me including a 4th. What a weekend!!!

Big congrats Charlie!! I am very sorry to say that I fear the shortening of the races might have had more to do with the delays in the early part of the day and heavy schedule and less to do with the heat. But I hope I'm wrong 'cause boy I was suffering too.... way too hot!! I am very very impressed that you were able to not only run back to back races but that you did as well as you did in them. Kudos sir!!

Yeah, the races were shortened because of the crashes, but also due to the long practice sessions in the morning. It was almost 11:00 before the first race took off.

Nice job in the Formula Old Farts race, Biggie.

Hot? Dang Charlie, you posted your best lap the last lap of your last race, a 1:40 and change. Isn't that your fastest ever lap?

Whatever you were doing, congrats!

Two races back to back with great results means I'm not giving you an inch on the hot, hot, hot button, cause you were riding really cool.

The crystal ball sees a trophy in your near future!:D
