So my new R1 was stolen this morning....

And the fucking perp had enough balls to stare directly at several security cameras, the car he rode in to get into my parking deck was left here from 9am this morning until 4pm this afternoon (enough for me to grab tag info and what not) and we noticed it was still in the parking deck while we were looking at security cameras, went to vehicle, approached it, guy was getting in it (diff guy than was on the camera stealing the bike) I reached behind my back to uncover my gun...just in case...and with the other hand waved hi to him and approached his vehicle, he gave me this look like, "sup" and then pulled out torwards me and left the parking spot very quickly (ugh) and the vehicle that had dropped him off left behind him...both tag #'s were recorded.

I felt safe this whole time, just more pissed off than anything. Anyways get back and search through the tapes some more, all of it is on film. Here's a link to him stealing the bike (9AM EST this morning):

***UPDATE****
NovedYarg has identified the vehicle and the suspect, recognized it as being seen on georgia tech campus (not even a mile from my place) and is going to get a possible location from his roomate or his friend for me to investigate...time to go do some drivebys

He dropped this book bag full of tools (cut off wheel, pliers, monkey wrench, screwdrivers) after the first turn (guessing it was too heavy) and left it behind, was able to recover it and it is going to be processed for prints.

Here he goes to the lexus he came in, gets a helmet, and drives off (note the jeep behind him is actually an off duty police officer that, after talking to, was supicious about the whole thing and wouldn't let him out of the parking gate) (9:30AM EST this morning)

That sucks... I don't know if they should feel better knowing that they at least have some evidence to prosecute should that even ever happen or worse knowing that you have this much evidence on them if they somehow slip out of the charges!

J/W, it seemed pretty quick to start the bike and get it out of there. I'm assuming he didn't just walk it along through the lot. Should I start getting paranoid about how easy it is to hotwire a bike now?

I also assume that the owner didn't bother to throw on even a disc lock or chain, etc. to slow them down, unless it was one of those truly generic cylinder types you can pick with a thin-walled Bic pen.

So we reviewed the footage, I have a good shot of the female coming into the parking deck in the "dropoff" vehicle, I have a shot of the passenger getting out to get in the lexus to take it out of the parking deck (this was later tuesday afternoon)

I also did some more research and I have the footage of them doing the RECON on the bike!!! They came in the night before, *IN THE LEXUS* and drove around, the thief was driving the lexus, and has a white passenger, can't tell if female or male. Thief is waering same shirt he wore to steal the bike, they also get stuck in the parking deck, and can't get out for over an hour. I haven't reviewed the other cameras that show where they are, but they are off camera for a bit trying to tailgate behind people. I finally get a shot of him getting out of the car, so I get a full figured shot of the thief, the night before, and his clothing (this time with a hat)

I have now decided to pull all of the "guest tickets" and get the ones timestamped when:

a.) the thief came in the night before
b.) the thief came in the next day
c.) the girl drove in the next day afternoon
d.) the ghetto black guy (who came in as a passenger of the female) as he used the ticket to exit

This should give me fingerprints of all involved parties.

As you'll see in the video, my property manager had to give some assistance to the girl as she was trying to use, get this....

A GEORGIA TECH PARKING CARD to get out of the building, she was confused because her parking card (another guest ticket, but from georgia tech) was the same size/shape/thickness as the ones in our building, however, obviously, ours are not stamped all over with georgia tech emblems and what not.

This gives me leads, I need to run the plates on the beat up green car she was driving and see what I can uncover. When she came back to drop off the black male who was to drive the lexus off property, she had a white male passenger with her, could this be the passenger in the IS the night before on the recon? Or could it be her b/f and he's associated with these guys, and not necessarily her? Or was she the passenger in HER OWN CAR the night before doing recon work.

I'll start processing the video and screenshot now, everything is getting uploaded and I will update this thread with pics/vids

This is the driver of the vehicle that was sent into my parking deck, to drop off a black male, who got into the lexus and drove it off the property. Could this be Angie? If it is, she's in big trouble.... Anyone know what kind of car that is? Make/Model/Possible Year can be helpful, we believe the tag number to be ACN1366 (for those of you who can run tags)

Okay, Afternoon of, this is after the green car has entered the parking deck and is coming up to the blue lexus, which has been sitting all day since the theft, and you can see in this video the green car goes by, and then (it gives me chills) you see ME come out of the fire escape (as I had rushed upstairs to get the plates off the car, no idea it was about to leave) and walk torwards the lexus, you then see the lexus come by, and the green car follow

I went and spoke with the detective, obviously. We went over the things OT had uncovered, I logged into OT and went through this very thread as a timeline, he was very impressed with how willing some of you are to help out a "stranger" in his words. But nonetheless, we viewed all of the video, and went through the parking ticket dillema. We covered the evidence that we found, and discussed the angles, passengers, etc. Basically what OT had discussed-

He then closed the videos, pulled out a folder and read me this standard legalize type thing about how people's hair grows and their faces get fat/thin, etc, etc. I was not to discuss what I saw with any other witnesses (there are none in this case, just the video footage) and I was to pick out the face that matched the thief.

I opened the folder, and out of the 10 pictures, I said, NUMBER FIVE with in like 2 seconds, closed the folder and smiled at him. I had to initial under the picture I identified, and then close the folder and sign on the back of it. It was then sealed. He said, I cannot confirm what you just identified (legally) but I can tell you that myself and five other detectives have identified the person in the videos and video captures you have provided....SCORE!!

I asked about the green car, we looked at it, he goes, "what is that, an achieva?", I said, well, actually...and showed him the stuff OT sent...1994 oldsmobile regency model 98, green, etc. I gave him the tag info or possible tag info, he was very delighted-

Here's the twist:

When he saw the picture of the female in the green car, his eyes lit up.... :wiggle: :wiggle: Apparently she is the one they have little information on, but know to be involved in the prior counts. He wants as much info on her as possible, and asked that I refrain from contacting her as it will only push the thief deeper into hiding and the "group" to disband. He did call the mother last night and left a message, he said her daughter's vehicle was party to SEVERAL felonies in the atlanta area, and that they were wanting her for questioning. At this point we do not have enough information to issue a warrant for her, so that has now become the primary search. I need to find that girl, and where shes living, so we have been on the right track by going after her.

The detective told me that based on the information WE have gathered, he is confident he has enough evidence to issue a warrant for this guy to be arrested. I asked if I could have info on him, and he said that once the warrant is issued, he will send me to a state/public website where I can retrieve his wanted poster :bowdown: :bowdown: :bowdown: So we will get our mugshot very soon! Out of the 1 1/2" thick stack of papers he had on his desk, my case is the only case that has its own folder, and corresponding evidence locker. This is top priority for him as it will stop future crimes and probably explain past crimes as well.

On the bike:

He said its the parts they're after, and not the engine/frame, thats the first thing they ditch- probably near by (gatech hotel parking deck maybe? no cameras...little security) the parts are then vended on ebay, craigslist, etc. But he said lately they have been backing off of this type of activity and have referred to word of mouth for selling the parts.

I asked if I should be going to BP on north ave (bike gathering spot) or the Vortex or Varsity to try and spot my bike or any parts from it, and he said...thats where they SHOP for bikes. Probably followed me home, I'm only <10blocks away from all of those places and have been to most of them before.

They only steal from parking decks, and tend to target the higher end areas. They believe the female to be living/residing in the Midtown area, as well as the other people involved. The suspect has some outstanding items in Gwinnett (explains the green tag) and that has helped me along....I'll post this to take a break from typing but I'm going back to the videos for more footage if I can, lets see if we can get better shots of the girl :naughty:

The chase for Angie:

Okay so I ran the extensive background check, and I've discovered based on obituaries that she seems to have three prior addresses in which her cousin with last name "Tanner" has resided w/ her husband. I'm going to start using the real estate related tools that I have from work to track these properties and see the current owners, if I can find her cousins living here in Georgia, I can go recon for the cars and find her possible location. I will report back more when I find out

If any OTers are in Marietta, Tifton, Acworth, please contact me and I will see what I can come up with. There is also a new orleans address that I would like to know if it was Katrina'd or if maybe thats where the Tanners moved.

The problem with my background check is that it has no dates, so I have to build up a history of where she has been and see if I can find where shes going or would go (in Atlanta area) for a place to sleep.

Video shows:
- Blue Lexus IS300 cases secured parking deck a day or two before the bike was stolen (he followed someone in); still not sure how he got out.
- Lexus IS300 pulls into guest parking a few days later at around 9am in the morning and a black guy who we think is named Carlos gets out with a backpack. He is black guy #1.
- This person somehow gets through the upstairs gates and gets into the secured parking garage.
- Suspect spends about 25 minutes working on the R1 bike with tools in backpack.
- Suspect starts bike and makes it to the first level with the Lexus.
- Suspect goes into Lexus and gets a helmet.
- Suspect leaves parking garage with Yamaha R1.
- Later on that day perhaps 7hrs later, a green car (buick?) shows up, with a white girl driving , and lets a black man out in front of the Lexus (the car is still in guest parking).
- A black man, not the same man that stole the bike and who we will refer to as black man #2, gets in and takes Lexus out of the garage.

Stuff uncovered off of video:
- We think that the guy that stole the bike is named Carlos (identified from local people here in Atlanta and by mugshot).
- The owner of the Lexus IS300 is a white girl named Angie/Angee McMillan
- It is stated (confirmed by two people) that Angie/Angee is dating Carlos and both are meth heads.
- Angie is supposed to be a little overweight/heavyset.
- The owner of the green car is a white girl named Lindsay Skinner
- We have addresses and place of employment for Angie McMillan
- We have an address for Lindsay Skinner
- Information from a friend who has bought from the group before tells us that black man #2 might be named Deniro. Carlos and Deniro roll together. He also has other friends that have bought from Carlos and his crew as well.
- This same friend has provided us with a possible city/road in which they might reside. We are checking up on that.
- Atlanta detectives are already working on this case and have a folder for this theft. More will be found out on Monday when the thread starter calls. We are waiting on a warrant to be issued so that we can can get an OFFICIAL mug shot and more info via the Atlanta police dept.

What people are doing right now:
- Multiple people, both on OT and other friends, are staking out areas of interest in Atlanta (places of business, places of last habitation, etc).
- We are in the process of trying to get pics of either the Lexus or older green car and the girls involved (namely Angie as she appears to be the connection that will lead us to Carlos since they are reported to be dating).
- An OTer went to Angie's last known place of business without any success (no Angie or vehicle). She will try again, though, with a different approach. :bigthumb:

It looks like the owner of the bike will be my insurance company, my claims adjuster called me and I've spouted all the info I've collected on the thief, etc, etc. She said she has spoken with the investigator and has no doubt that the claim is legit, I'm not going to have to wait the standard 30 day period for my offer on the bike so we can settle up And she added at the end, I hope they catch the guy!

Just spoke with the investigator. He took most of the information I gave him but again asked to see me in person tomorrow at 10am. He did confirm the identity of the thieft as Carlos Anderson

The "ID Unit" showed up as he was on the phone with me to take the pictures of the items in the bag before they sent them off for prints. So it looks like at this point they are actually going to get as much evidence as possible!

Update-

Spoke with detective this morning and hand delivered some of the evidence OT had gotten me from the video footage as well as some of the background info we have on the individuals. He said the judge recommended that Carlos be indicted by a grand jury so that ball is in motion. My next correspondence with the Detective will most likely be the news of his arrest...so I will update OT when I get that.

As far as the bike goes, all of the businesses have been closed, I'll know more tomorrow in terms of sheer damage that can be assessed. I haven't decided what I want to do with the bike yet, I need to see the figures from insurance to make that determination.

All of you guys on here have been a big help through this, both through your assistance and support. I know this guy will get caught and I have a feeling the police know exactly where to go pick him up and they're just waiting on the paperwork to go through to really put his ass behind bars.

Very true- he will be behind bars...just a matter of time. I think the police have enough charges against him now to really mess him up.

Just got off the phone w/ insurance, they are sending me a check to cover the damages, the bike will not be totaled. This is good, it was borderline totalled until I submitted a few receipts to show proof of additional value.

I rode the bike yesterday as I've already come out of pocket and bought the items necessary to make it rideable, not going to ride it much more until I get new ignition system in. Whee! I'll update OT when this fucker is behind bars, I can't wait :)

here's the latest shot of the bike, I'm ripping it completely apart to fully integrate the alarm system throughout the factory wiring harness and mounting the siren/brains under the gas tank above the engine, so theres noway to quickly disable it

Well the old thread got archived, so Im having to make a somewhat new one to post this new info in, I know a lot of you guys were wondering wtf is going on.

I got a letter in the mail today from the Office of the Fulton County District Attorney, signed by a "Victime Advocate"....apparently its some type of case worker for me, the victim, to answer all my questions I have about the trial...
then it says:

State of Georgia vs Carlos Anderson

"This case is scheduled to be on All Purpose Calendar on August 02, 2006, we are scheduled to present thi scase to the Grand Jury on August, 04 2006 and this case is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 09, 2006. I would like to speak to you prior to these hearings to make sure that you understand what is going on."

So that fucker is sitting in jail right now, need to find him on a list somewhere to make sure!

BTW: Updates on my bike- its running, exhaust was fully ceramic coated, all body panels replaced, new billet CNC triple tree, power commander, speedohealer, few other goodies. Bike is stupid fast now, and has a nice grunt with the new exhaust setup....fuck you Carlos!

If he doesn't care about stealing folks property, he probably doesn't care if someone loses the house, etc. that they likely had to put up as collateral for his bail when he takes off.

Then again, he may cut a deal and rat out everybody else in the theft ring before someone else cuts a deal.
