Ok...so I'm behind on typing up my June race report. However after hearing about my exemplary performance, you'll all soon realize the reason for the delay.
Saturday 6/17:
I roll into Willow springs bright and eary to meet up with Kurt, at which point I decide I want to mount up a new set of tires on the SV. I was originally running pilot powers and decided to try some Power Race's.
Unfortunately in a turn of amateurish misfortune, I managed to crash out during lap 3 of the second session of practice...ack!!
Soooo...how did I manage to do this you all ask? Well, it seems that towards my exit of turn 5 (downhill left hander) I lost traction in the rear, at which point the bike slid out from underneath me. However, I managed to countersteer the slide for a fraction of a second, but long enough to have the bike snap upright and kartwheel to slightly over to the right, thus spitting me off, at which point the bike then flipped over to the left side and slid to a halt. In the meantime, I impacted onto the left side of my head and then I tumbled onto my back and began to slide, all the while I was staring into the oncoming wheel of a two stroke bearing down on me with its brakes locked up. The end result was me getting run over and then the two stroke also crashed. Bummer!
Luckily, I walked away unscathed and unharmed. I am now in need of a new helmet (which I have just purchased by the way), new gloves and some odds and ends for the bike. Clutch lever, shift lever, foot peg and some fiberglass repair.
Here are some pics of the crash damage:
So, if anyone wants to donate to the "Get Bryan Back on the Track fund", send cash via paypal to Bryan.Galvan@gmail.com :D
Ok...sorry for the crappy litttle pic but somebody has the HTML code and [IMG] tags turned off for me on here...I won't name any names.......
