Hey Kurt,
Since you were behind me for a bit where do I need to improve?
You don't even want to know how close I was to rear-ending you and Ryan the first couple times I tried it.:o

jadeblue,
I was embarrassed after that pass:o
Lap after lap I couldn't catch you from 5 to 9, then on the last lap the rider ahead of you slowed you down coming into 9 and I thought I would have to brake. Lucky for me, I didn't have to let off, and just coasted right by, just like you two had it planned. I should at least say thank you.:D
It was great running with some of you. When I was running DFL, I couldn't compare what I was doing well and poorly, and competing with others is lots of fun. Thanks!
I love mylaps.
Looking at race #2.
1:30 to 1:35 eight riders.
1:37 two riders
1:42 five riders = seth, shandra, charles?, steve, and TOM, where is Tom?
Don't forget Charlie, he's just looking us over, waiting to destroy us when he's ready.
The six of us should have a fantastic time this year, looking to give those ten fast guys a race for their money before the end of summer. This is going to be a fun year!

There may not be a right one, but there sure are some wong ones! I swear I was going to fall off the dang bike in turns 8 and 9 on Saturday :clown: . I was riding it in the same position I ride the EX and that put my outside knee too high on the tank and it was slipping off. I was catching my weight on the inside peg and had to bring the inside knee back to the tank to help hold on.... All messed up! The EX has lower pegs so my outside knee gets the tank pretty solid on that, but I was definitely riding the SV wrong on Saturday and felt pretty uncomfortable. Seeing that pic of Zoran just reinforces that I need to work on corner speed more than hanging off. Maybe I should get a sticker to read too....

It wasn't too long ago that racers kept their ass planted on the seat. And they were still fast. That probalby means there are more important skill aspects besides hanging off the bike. I especially never understood why some street riders place so much emphasis on hanging off the bike...

he did corner work this weekend so i'd guess he was finishing up his novice requirements and will be out to play next month.

I'm young and still have quick reflexes. :p
All those hours of playing fucking video games as a kid allowed me to develop really quick hand movements.
Either that or genetics. My dad was always good at starts when he raced.

IS there any word on Greggs condition? I'm sure everyone knows he went down. He seemed okay though. I hope he can get his bike repaired. I'll see everyone next month. I love racing, even though I'm not any good at it. Apparently I made some sweet passes in turn 3 and turn 5. There is nothing going faster than guys on bigger bikes than you. I can't wait until next month. What sorts of times is everyone running. I'm still really slow. Ride safe.

Craig,
Check out mylaps.com
Us SVers run anywhere from 1:30 to high 40s
Craig,
no broken bones... just bumps and bruises. Some fluid build up in my right knee. All things considered I got off pretty easy. Wish I could say the same for the bike. heh
As for times, I actually got down to a high 1:33. Lets hope this crash wont slow me down *too* much, though I am sure it will. I'll see you all out there next month. I'll prolly be on the SV.
Which brings a question.... on the SV do I still run the middleweight novice or do I run in lightweight? I know the SV's run in lightweight practice, so would that apply to races as well?
codzilla70
Wed 3/22/06, 2:34PM
Nope:( you gotta race middleweight and take your lumps, but you may still practice with LW.:D
it will slow you down if you think about it to much :)
usualy I get pissed of when I crash and go faster next time out.
sv's can run either practice, lightweight or midleweight.
I like to run lightweight on saturdays because there is less traffic out there.I believe you race midleweight as novice.

There's possible rain in the 5-8 day forecast, but nothing that can be accurately forecasted. No worries, man. Yet.
Kurt'sSV
Mon 4/10/06, 8:43PM
Right now it's 30% for Sat, which doesn't mean it will ran much, if any, at the track. Though forecasts always change and can be wrong.
Yesterday, 4/09, it was 30% chance of rain at Buttonwillow. This morning, 4/10, it was 60%chance of rain at Buttonwillow. It may have rained in the town of Buttonwillow and did rain a lot in the area, but not at the track.
I don't start worrying about chance of rain unless it's over 30%, and two days out or less. Shit, after all the rain we've had at the track this year, I don't even worry about rain anymore.

Rain? AGAIN? Jesus, I'm going to show up at tech wearing flippers and a snorkel ...
On the bright side, my SocalSVRiders sticker looks bitchin' on my race bike. Frame rail was the perfect spot for it. Thanks, Sandie ...
If you're superstitious, showing up with rain tires will mean that it won't rain. If you're not superstitious, showing up with rain tires will mean you have nothing to worry about if it rains. It's a no-brainer.
BTW, I will listen to whatever the hot weather girl on channel 9 says. :)
Anyone know if rain tires will be okay for a lot of laps? Think I can get a day of practice on Saturday, do the solo race after, then a couple more races the next day???

Haha. That's good advice. Today I was on treaded tires and had a rain coat with me and there was no rain at the track while it poured cats and dogs all around us.

I guess youre right. My question is if I show up sat and it rains can I carry over the NRS to may. I dont have any rain experince, and I dont think I want to gain it during NRS. I'm kinda bumming too because none of my plastics have arrived yet. The vender promised them 2 weekends ago, now Im hoping to even get them.

I'm not a track official, but the way it's always worked is that if you don't go onto the track on any given day, you are entitled to a carryover for that day. So I think - think - that if you do NRS on Saturday and it rains on Sunday, you can carry over until race day in May. Shoot Ashley an email at the track for the official word. Generally, they're really good at carryovers - after all, it's a club run by racers, for racers.

You would be better to run DOT's if you need them to last, rains are only good for standing water only, and if the track is dry anywhere rains will tear up quickly.
Plus, Sat looks good for weather, Sun even better.
hope it rains, got this set of rain tires but no place to use them :)

It's a life insurance policy that will cover me even if i bite the big one whilst on the track...racing even. I'ts gonna cost me my left nut and about 3/4 of the right one but at least i'll be covered and my kid won't have to grow up on welfare if i bite the dust just cause daddy was an irresponsible cheapskate as opposed to just irresponsible.
Now, if I pith myself that's a whole 'nother matter. I'm working on the disability end of the equation to cover my ass as well.
I'ts gonna cost me what's left of my right nut and and a good chunk of my corpus spongiosum. But who cares? Sex is overrated anyway. That's how much I love racing.
So just gotta not crash till then.
SO i think i'll compromise. Skip saturday, do the couch and chocolate thing and show up sunday to race.

Mad props to Kurt and Monsterdood for the big trophies. Breezy as heck, but the racing rocked. It was a blast going though Turn One bar-to-bar with Monsterdood - twice! I just wish I was around at the finish to give him a run for the money. Ah, the engineering laws of unintended consequences - or, it's amazing the string of problems a single friggin' jet change can cause! Weirdest thing was looking at the lap times - I ran fast lap of the race, but that one lap was like two seconds quicker than any other I turned.
Still, got a third, a trophy and a check - a check! Damn, I've had worse days at Willow.
Peace

Seriously though, Sorry you had issues on the last lap, I was fully expecting you to draft by me for the checker.....
Congrats to Kurt too, two 1st places both by 0.165 seconds according to Mylaps! This whole Socalriders contingency seems awefully funny with Kurt winning these races right after the contingency was announced. I'm not sure how he's fixing it, but there's something funny going on.
And if anyone has a blue Gen 1 tank for my SV, i'm in the market after taking the bike offroad on Saturday.
BTW, I really hope Brienne is okay after her getoff in turn 8, if anyone hears how she's doing, let us know.

Thanks, guys. I wouldn't have won shit, though, without those monstrous 41mm carburetors I borrowed from Tom. Wish I could keep those for next month. Guess I'll just have to pull down my skirt and ride harder.
Shandra guest color commentated up in the announce tower today and gave me a new nick name: Kurt "pull down your skirt and race" Whittington. :|
And thanks, Burst, for getting us those SoCalSVRiders stickers on Sunday afternoon. I have them now for next month for other people.
Battling it out all race long with Codzilla in Formula Twins LW was really fun and winning the race was cool, but all the excitement went away when we went around turn 8 to head back to the pits and there was Brienne laying in a pile of dirt. I will like to know what happened, but all we can tell is that she and another rider got together, which caused them to crash. She just suffered a concussion - no mention of broken bones, but she still got flown to the Bakersfield trauma center from the track. It's never a good sight to see that life flight helicopter come over the hills.

Chris, I'll have you know I had to follow you for FOUR laps before I could put in that "quick" one ... :) It's the best consolation prize I could come up with for myself on the drive home ...
Yeah, when you don't hear the announcer say "Up and walking" after a crash, you realize with some surprise just how much you're waiting to hear those words, especially when you see someone lying there not moving in an impact zone in the dirt. You get used to hearing that quickly, so when it doesn't come ... I waited the entire hour of down time just sitting there in my truck, directly across from her pits, looking at her wrecked bike. No fun at all.
Glad she's gonna be OK, it sounds like. Really damned glad. Last time I was at the track and heard the announcer tell people to clear the hot pit lane for emergency equipment, the outcome wasn't nearly as positive.

that would be me with the yellow sv and vw gti. big congrats to kurt for his win. seemed like everybody really stepped it up in terms of lap times this month. i struggled with fear again this month through t8. but now having made it through a couple races without crashing i'm feeling a little better and hope to get back into the swing of things next month.

oops-you're right, i think i used the "w" word 2x...(note to self.. breezy...breezy.. not windy)
although the only thing i was told not to say was "f***, dead," & try not to say "oh Sh*t" as far as being one of "the voices"-it was an offer they wanted to try out & if stephanie liked me, it would be more of a help dave out, so i'm not sure how much race calling i'd be doing-i wasn't planning on doing as much as i did-however, i did get a funny in that was good enough while dave was drinking a bottle of water to make him shoot it out his nose-that was priceless.
but all you guys looked really good from my vantage point point & other than t8 claiming a lot of victims this weekend, it was a smooth bunch of racing.

Kurt congrats on the two 1st place finishes. I was able to go through NRS with a Mickey mouse rig job on my sv body work and screwed up rear shock. I was dragging my lowers on almost every turn. Turn 8 really sucks in breezy conditions. Shandra it was nice to meet you during the last part of NRS. Hope to meet everybody in May.
BTW what is the ideal length eye to eye for a penske shock for the sv.

Racing was delayed about an hour after Brienne Thomson crashed her SV650 in turn eight during the Formula Twins Lightweight race and had to be stabilized before she was flown by helicopter to a Kern County trauma center in Bakersfield, California. Thomson was running fourth in windy conditions when she fell; according to medical personnel at the hospital she suffered a severe concussion but did not have any broken bones and was breathing on her own. More information will be posted when available.
Talked to Thad Wolff in the pits after the last races, he said she was really agitated and not all to aware of where she was due to the hit she took on her head. He believed she didn't have major skeletal injuries but obviously couldn't comment on the head injury (the reason she was flown out)
We're all hoping for the best.

I talked to Jiggy last night to had in turn talked to a good friend of Brienne. Of course I didn't think to ask if Brienne was out of the hospital, yet, all Jiggy said was that she doesn't remember the crash at all so she still has no idea why she went down. It had to have involved the other rider since there were two of them out there. I can't see how the wind knocked her down as the rest of us didn't have problems with it during that race.
I called Brienne to see how she is doing, but it went straight to voicemail. I would imagine she probably isnt feeling too much like talking on the phone. I'll post up when I hear back from her.

With a whack on the head they're pretty likely to keep her a few days and keep her on dilantin to prevent seizures - also make sure that there's NO chance of further bleeding (subdural hematoma) which would require emergency surgery to relieve the pressure.
When I got bonked, I spent 3 days in ICU before being transferred to critical care for the last day and a half. Sounds like she got a bigger whack on her head than I did.

actually according to "the other rider" (whose name i didn't catch) it did NOT involve him at all. he was pitted next to us and after the crash we went over and asked him what had happened. well before brienne's accident he had suffered a mechanical and pulled in tothe weeds at the outside of t7. (that's why that yellow flag was there for several laps before the red flag came out.) the crash truck came and picked him up and they were approaching t8 when brienne lost it. they, of course stopped at that point to help her and that's when we all saw two bikes/riders and assumed that they had been involved in an incident.
hope she recovers soon. those frontal lobe concussion (the ones that make you mean) can be a long time to get over) :(

I just got an e-mail from Brienne, so I assume she's home, now. Says she still feeling a bit dizzy but her body is fine. The last thing she remembers is looking at Kevin Jump to prep him for a pass, then when her brain kicked back on she was in the hospital.

Thanks for the comments and concerns. I’m being taken care of by my family and should be back to work by Thursday.
I remember absolutely nothing about the crash. But I do think a senseless 90 + mph crash in turn 8 is odd. The last thing I remember was trying to set Kevin Jump up for a pass … then I was in the hospital. My hands were numb and immobile and my mouth had a breather box in it. :o
I’m healthy and thankful because of all of the medical staff. And I certainly do appreciate the well wishes from friends and racers.

From experience - the cool thing about brain injury is amnesia!
I missed almost a 15 minute chunk of time from my highside. I remember pulling on my gloves.... ..... ... and then coming back to consciousness strapped to the backboard with the rain coming down in my face with my helmet off.
No memory of engine start, leaving the pits or starting the race.
Doc said not to try to remember it - memory might not have been loaded into long term memory. Like operating in RAM when the computer shuts down. Fine with me.:D

THAT SUCKS!
Feeling spaced out is probably harder to deal with than bruises.
Don't worry - it's a bit like any other bruise and just takes a while.
I had a pool of blood between the brain and skull about 1/2 inch deep that just took a while to re-absorb.
I had morpine to blame for my first week. After that, it took a while to get the brain back to whatever normal was... well, normal was never a good description of me in any case.
Now, I don't have any excuses. I guess I'm just this stupid!

ya..the mental fuzziness should fade within a couple days to weeks.
and you may never remember what happened or want to remember.
Almost 1 1/2 years later the events leading up to my crash came to me in a dream, so I "think" I know what caused it, but.....who's to say it was accurate? The dream itself wasn't in sharp focus when I woke up either...so it's hard to know if it was real or not.

Yeah, I still don't remember the moment of impact from my crash and subsequent unconsciousness and concussion. The last thing I remember is thinking "oh shit, I'm going to crash" then the next thing I know, I'm back at my truck taking off my leathers. Memory loss is normal.
I remember ALL of my crashes... :( Quite vividly in fact. Even with concussions and all. It would be nice to forget. heh

Looks great. My problem was with the carburetion and a full-loss electrical system hooked up to points; we never got the electronic ignition system to work right, and the damned thing would not run right for six full laps. If you get that working, you'll have a ball. And yes, mine nickle and dimed me to death, too. It was like every time I walked past the garage $20s would be sucked from my wallet. At the end, I hated it and it hated me. We would just stare at each other in the garage ...

You are welcome to give it a spin.
I just can't handle the acceleration on the track. The SV has lots of power everywhere on the track, and is never boring but the Gixxer blazes. Between T1 and T2 it gains major speed, also uphill in 2. It gains so much speed without trying that I can't keep up with it and judge my speed well enough to be comfortable.
For me, the difference between slowing from 125 to enter T1 and slowing from a quickly accelerating bike at 165 mph is huge, and it makes my thingies shrivel.
It's steveyracers old bike and it will run forever if you put in gas, change tires and oil and I love it for a track day bike, but as a race bike, I'm not nearly a good enough rider.

Just wanted to thank Kurt, Tom, Cody, Shandra and the TWF guys for all their hospitality in getting me set up in and out of the pits and getting my newb ass straightend out as far as racing goes. Yeah, out of use regulars at WSMC, there seem to be several of us who are going to be running about the same times. Even Chris Rogers is suddenly fast. He ran a lap time half a second faster than me before he pile drived himself into the ground in Formula Twins LW.
Fighting for first next month it could be Andy, me, Tim Martinez, Rogers, Kevin Jump and even George Beavers, if he gets up to speed quick enough on his new SV. And if Cody and Brienne wouldn't crash, they'd be right there with us in the race, too. Plus there's John Wood who's running '33s as a novice.
Hopefully, with this many of us fighting closely for the win it will force us to improve greatly to try to out-do each other. It'd be nice if the next time the yellow bikes come down to Willow, they don't embarrass all of us.
Thanks to all the SoCal Folks for letting us squat in your pits, it was a good weekend. Always lots of fun to come down and hang out.
Seems like every time we go down there are more and more SV's on the grid, that's awesome. Now, if we could only stop crashing them.. :)

So Monsterdood's posts have got me thinking; I don't want to post only when things go well. And last month (May), things didn't go well. About the only things I didn't do were crash and blow up ...
Had a little motor work done, and the critter looked pretty strong on the dyno. I'd also invested in some 17" wheels, and I was running the Bridgestone BT-090s, so I was feeling pretty good heading into the weekend. I'd even figured out the mechanical problem that dropped me to third last month (I had a bad petcock; penicillin cleared it right up ... )
Gotta be careful about expectations ...
I was honestly surprised the first time I took the Bridgestones around the track; they seemed really, really slick. I'm thinking, well, it's just gotta be me, I gotta get used to these things. Well, I now know more about sliding a race bike than I EVER wanted to know. Turn Two was a series of rear wheel slide and catch, slide and catch; Turn Nine was a two-wheel drift. Maybe these tires work well for some, but my experience was rather unpleasant.
The motor thing didn't work out very well, either. No matter where in the rev range I was - high, low - whenever I so much as touched the throttle, it would cough, die and then come back on all at once. It was quick once I got it up and in a straight line, but ghastly on corner exits.
So far, no good. Then I'm watching the wrong starting grid official, leave with the wrong wave, and get docked a lap - not that it was gonna make a difference anyway, they were six of the least fun laps of my life. I don't think I've been more embarassed at the track. An electrical problem meant I sat out my other race.
So I'm sitting in my garage a couple days later, sobbing hysterically. Even the dog looks worried. So I start trying to remind myself that this was supposed to be for fun, for getting a chance to ride quickly without worrying about speeding tickets, et al. I grab the wrenches and start to undo the changes. Hey, it was good enough for three trophies this year so far; let's hope it's good for a couple more.
Peace

Well, I didn't end up wearing the micro-dress, but it was still a very weird weekend. But it was a LOT of fun, and it ended with a trophy, a big birthday cake for ZenSandy, and an unwrecked bike and undamaged rider. It was one of those days that reminds you about why club motorcycle roadracing is the best sport on the planet.
For reasons still unclear to me, the Spyder (EX500) started running hot on Saturday afternoon - hot as in puking water out of the overflow hose hot. A jetting change didn't help it, the water impeller was fine, and yanking the thermostat didn't help either. So we're thrashing away on it Sunday morning, and Monsterdood - the guy one slim point ahead of me in the chase for the BOTT Light championship - comes by. Next thing I know, he's got TWO tool chests over in my pits, and he and ZenSandy's friend are jury-rigging the fan to the emergency flasher switch in an attempt to help me keep the thing cool. That was above-and-beyond cool from a competitor; Chris' wife, Rachel, was overheard saying, "Yeah, I think I'll keep him."
So we get it running and head off to the office for yet another carryover; I'm gonna skip 500 Superstock, which I usually use to get into the racing head space, and just try to make it last eight laps. As I'm walking through the pits, someone walks up to me and says, "Dude, the guy next to you put a piece of tape on your rear tire, it's blistered or something."
I go trotting back to my pits - and no less than THREE other racers have seen a potentially dangerous condition on my bike and were trying to let me know. Now THAT is cool. I get there and there are two big chunks tearing away from the tire I just put on the bike the day before. They are calling riders to the grid for race four. I am race seven. Damn.
I pull the rear wheel, grab a spare tire that I brought with me for some reason and go jogging down pit lane. I hear the track announcer say that all races have now been cut to six laps instead of eight. Less time to fix this - double-damn.
I stop at the Michelin tent and puff at the guy, "THIS tire's blistered. THIS one fits on the rim. I'm race seven. Can you help me?"
The guy - literally - drops the tools from the bike he's working on and says, "No problem."
I run back to my pit, put the leathers on, jump into the truck, pick up the tire (he'd even taken a second to set the tire to the pressure I wanted, I tipped the dude nicely) and hauled back to my pit, undoubtedly breaking the 5 miles an hour in the pit speed limit. We throw the wheel on and even have time to safety-wire everything before they make the call for our race. I hit the starter, hit the emergency flasher button, and head on out.
I get a crap start and wind up in fifth - some guy I'd never seen before took off like a rocket and was just gone. Monsterdood took off, I'm chasing Larry Cochran and Dan DeBry; Larry's got his Ascot going very well, Dan's riding well, and it took me a few laps to start getting my head into the game. We start slicing through traffic, and I start to close on Dan, and he starts looking back at me; never look back, I was taught. I drafted him at the line on the last lap. Margin: .303 seconds.
I'll let Monsterdood tell you how it happened, but the guy who took first withdrew from the race. So I went from having a bike that wasn't ready to race late Sunday morning to the podium Sunday afternoon. And I got the one thing every racer wants - a battle on the track, someone to chase, someone to race with. All with the help of friends at the track.
And the cake rocked.

I think your bike needs to be taken to put down, Michael. It's seen better days. Your SV is close enough to being paid off to race. Shit, I just paid off my bike this month.
I'm disappointed in my second place in F Twins LW. I'll have to suck it up and ride harder next month. The race was fun until I realized I couldn't win it. Racing with Tim in 550SBK was fun, too, and I came out on top of that one.
The grid was kind of light this past weekend, so hopefully there'll be more SV's back out in July.

Hey Michael, good racing this weekend. At my very best, maybe I could be racing with and behind you and Dan. I was really slow this month 23+ seconds behind you.
I wondered how come I was gifted a 3rd place last month, you and Dan both had bike problems, yes?
I would do a quick check on the bottom end and refresh the top end of the EX engine, although it could be an intake leak making it lean out, at full throttle there isn't much vacuum to suck in air to cause a lean condition, most likely causing more of an off throttle then on throttle stutter, as the intake vacuum is high on off throttle as you slow into turns. With all the worry and confusion, you raced a great race, congrats on the win!
PS, what tire bubbled? I was running Pilot Powers Friday until I got a couple rear slips in four and one in nine. Went to Michelin Power Race with no trouble except I was way slow Sunday.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, Kurt; I had that moment about lap four when I realized I couldn't catch Larry. That SUCKED! The next lap was my best, so maybe getting my feelings hurt is a good thing ... :)
I had an Avon AM23 race compound tire go south on me. I'm not sure if it chunked or it got cut. Monsterdood thinks it got cut, and I'm thinking he's right.
I've got one more good motor in the garage. I'm gonna go through this one more time, carefully (thanks for the tips, SteveB. Last month I had bike and rider problems). And I've taped up a list of salvage yards in front of the bike - I'm gonna let it think about going to the glue factory for a bit. If that doesn't give the little bastard a dose of act-right, then ... well, Ebay was very good to me in the past ...

i have a macadam rear & a pr2 front on my fzr...the tires feel just like my sv setup, which has a med-soft rear tire. the macadam get heat in 1 lap, sticks like a champ, and has a slightly taller profile than a bridgestone, so turn in is much easier...

Jesus, there were a lot of SCSVRs on the ground today! Monsterdood, jadeblue1, and warmseth all hit the deck. VERY glad the injuries were minor, and hope the bikes heal quickly.
Being between race bikes, I had to safety-wire and ride a bone-stock GS500 if I wanted points in my class. And this bike was slow.
Audience, all together: How slow was it?
Me: It was so slow that we measured my lap times with a sundial!
Steady, safe, slow (like I had a choice) riding and some misfortune by my competitors meant a 4th in BOTT light. The way things went, I'm happy to put an undamaged bike back in the garage. Good thing, too, it's brand new and I haven't even made a payment on it yet.

Yeah....other then the scorching heat, the weekend was a blast.
It's a good thing I came out Friday, because I had a lot of kinks to iron out both in the bike and in myself. Saturday was pleasant and Sunday was amazing. I had so much adrenaline after my first race, I wanted to get back on the bike and do it all over again.
Besides the technical things I learned on the track, I think the most important lesson I learned this weekend was organization. Things can quickly become very stressful if you're not paying attention and keeping track of simple things like gas, grid positions, and swing arm sliders.
But...I made it through NSR and I finished my first race. So, it's a step in the right direction.
Big thanks to Shandra, Kurt, Seth, Dan, & Bryan for keep me squared away and not looking too much like an idiot!
I really need to work on just about every corner, but I'm hoping to drop down to mid 30's next time. We shall see.

Another warm one this weekend out at Willows. Not quite as hot as last month, though. Thankfully the forecast is showing light winds on Sunday. Hope that holds true. With both the SV races being in the morning (#'s 2 & 4), we should be able to cut some fast lap times.
There will be side cars this month which will mean a longer practice rotation on Sunday morning. Last time we had side cars there the first race didn't get off until 11 o'fuckin'clock. That kind of pissed me off.
You guys ready for the last double points weekend of the year? It could make or break some people's seasons!

Sidecars? I might have to go out there tomorrow...

You'd only be a third wheel.

Hey guys...as I'm sure you have already realized, I'm not racing this month because I'm out of town for a wedding (no...not mine) but I had obligated myself to be there but I'll be out in September again.

Yeah, I took a little soil sampling this weekend outside turn 2. At least a "Kurt" on Michelin tires won both the races.

I think it was more than just a soil sampling. Sounds like you plowed the back forty off turn 2!:( But, your mother and I are glad you were able to walk away from another crash.
It's been almost a year since your get off in turn 9. You are only allowed one crash a year. You filled your quota for the next 12 months. No more crashes!!.

The 'lone masked gunman' strikes again.
Hey Spencer, how about taking your winnings and get an actual number 4 for your numberplates, ya cheapskate.

Eery foreshadowing of Kurt's crash in Formula Twins Lightweight.....
Sorry about your crash Kurt but glad you're alright. If you need some help with the fairings... please call me before Tom. I don't want to see any more Tom repairs making our grids look like the bikes were just dragged out of Samford and Son's back yard....

I like having an ugly bike. It makes the people with all the bling look like posers when they get smoked by the salvaged title bike.
I put up some pics in an album. Trey, put your pics here, too:

Duct tape and zip ties on SV bodywork is a sign of manliness.
Dents too.
Way cool to go to a track day when the posers are there with all those "oh, so pretty" bikes... and then show up with the SV Ratbike. Brings the universe back into balance. :D
you calling yellow bikes posers?:D
well, there is Tom to ruin it.
