To start, I have enough points to get my Expert license so it's official, I'm a real Expert now! Just to let you know, it didn't make me any faster!

Raced in 3 classes this month. The grid for race #1, 550 SB has grown and now is pretty crowded(Good to see!). I got a reasonable start but ended in mid pack by T1. I diced with Shandra for the whole race till another rider got between us and I couldn't get around him. I finished 12th in the class. It was hot but I felt I did OK.

Second race was our class, the Formula Twins Lightweight. I was gridded on second row, got a good start and diced with Shandra for a few laps, then she dropped off the track coming outta T4B and I found out later she was OK. I hate it when that happens so my 5th wasn't celebrated since I gained from her loss. Hang in there Shandra, we have to keep the flag waving for the 2nd Gen SVs. Hope you're doing OK and your bike is back together soon.

My third race was the Formula 50 race. I got a good start and just tried to keep the fast guys in view. Not a chance, some of these old farts are pretty fast! I finished 6th. It was really hot and I think I lost about 20 pounds (I wish). I had a fun day overall. On to next race weekend!

Are you all packed up ready for the ride to Laguna Seca, checking out the board one last time before you leave?

You are doing great, Charlie, just like I predicted, congrats on getting faster progressively in small steps!

In spite of eating three meals, snacking, and drinking 12 lbs of water, I lost 8 lbs Sunday.

It's good to see that you're continuing to improve, Charlie.

How well do you hang with Shandra down the front straight? How's your bike's top speed? She has quite a power to weight ratio advantage on you (My power to weight vs. her power to weight ratio is probably pretty close to being even). Short and skinny creates an advantage in this sport.

I think our bikes are pretty close, but she can pull away a little out of T9. We stay pretty even til T1 and I can close up then it's the same til T9 again. Yeah, smaller and lighter helps a lot! :)

Thanks for the kudos Kurt!
