Where was the Porsche video shot? Nurinburgring, Germany?

Anyway that was the best vid I have seen in a long time!

Is it an R1 or an R7? The tach looks like it says R7

It said R1 on the original link.

What's all this R7 stuff I'm hearing lately? Did they make a slightly bigger brother to the R6?

The R7 is a race ready bike that was sold to satisfy FIM homologation rules. Here's more info (http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mcyam/99r7.html) on the bike. Titanium valves and con-rods. Pretty awesome.

On another bike related note, Brosnan, Pierce Brosnan (http://www.fun.from.hell.pl/2003-01-21/brosnan.wmv).

Saw one up at GMR one day... Guy blew past me like I was standing still...

Not a very courteous pass either, the prick...

I've heard about this video. I think the driver of the Porche is much more skilled than the R1 rider. Either that or he was slacking.

The R1 rider is a former BSB (British Super Bike) Champion. I'd say he is pretty fast and the vid makes him look bad. He is a writer for either Bike or T.W.O (Brit Mags).

Man they should not have been on the track at the same time. I mean, here's a couple thousand pound steel cage drifting around corners and you expect a biker to be willing to be in that corner at the same time.

sheeeeyit no

As it was that car was drifting all over the track and even onto the grass.

If they did a couple of timed laps each, I think it would have been a different outcome.

Just my $.02...and don't be asking for change.

R7's were being raced in World Superbikes back in 99, and I think in British Super's around the same time. Noriyuki Haga was tearing it up in WSBK,he doing some crazy but amazing shit on it, never won tho.
