It looks like Saturday morning, 11/4/2006, in and around Julian could be a bit of a clusterfluck.

Oh that Julian.

I had thrown in a double free bike wash and leather cleaning on last Saturdays ride to the SD Badlands at no extra charge. Only thing is, it turned out not to be spot free. We all had lots of unappreciated spots. Nice ride though.

Here's my version of what happened, and a plausible alternate version. Take your pick!

1. Neil took us safely offroading in the Borrego State Park, and our bikes and gear got dusty. Being the thoughtful ride leader he is, he arranged for a complimentary bike and leathers wash, with a double rinse. It's not his fault that deionized water was not used.

2. There were three girls and two guys on this ride. Neil's Machiavellian mind realized that the entire experience would be more enjoyable for the men if he managed to get the girls soaked. Little did he know that wet leathers aren't nearly as scandalous as wet t-shirts.

:p

I got to hand it to you. I didn't think you would figure out my devious plan. Yes that was it. And then the plan really went bad because I couldn't even find my camera to take pictures of all the sexy women in there wet leathers. Did find a towel though to help everyone dry off.

Hope you got your bike clean HoolieB

This weekend I'll get to it and spiff it up again. Right now, it's in the shed, covered, hoping no one sees it. ;)

Seriously, getting wet felt pretty good -- and it was both funny and fun!

So HoolieB. We could have taken a picture of your bike dirty and threatened to post it on the internet if you didn't pay us large sums of cash. Have to remember that one.

Here's Mike's photos all before the H20. Don't think they will clear anything up though.

Why was Sierra cancelled? You lucked out. We still have 95 openings on the Idyllwild ride.

Neil: One of the rider's father passed away a day or so ago. Plus the weather reports for the area kept getting worse. No reason to travel that far just for rain and/ or snow.

Yeah I am not buying Neil’s story. He knew we were out numbered by pretty girls and was hoping for a wet t-shirt contest. Ladies you have to watch Neil, he is a sneaky one. :p

Having said that I did learn something from him. Even my twisted, diabolical perverted self would have never come up with a plan such as this. :worthy:

Come on Mike,

If this was true I would have told you of my plan. We would have both parked outside the drench zone with our cameras ready to go. Now that would be a great plan. Lets try it next time.
