My friend rented this thing today for 60.00
What a blast it was. It's got a good amount of power. I would say equal to the SV as far as the "ass-o-meter" can tell. Here's a pic of me trying to look cooler than I actually am.

All it cost was $60 to rent?
Give us the details...
Where
How long
Insurance
Deposit
Etc.
As much as I dislike Harleys the V-rod is the only one I would own.

He rented it at "Rent a Harley" in San Diego, where Rosecrans meets Sports arena,,,,just before the 5 on ramp.
It was 60 bucks, from 12pm to 5pm. He put a 2000.00 deposit on his credit card though.
Nice people....watch out for the 5 foot long iguana running around in there though.
Insurance was 8 bucks I think.....not sure.

You can do the same thing at Orange County HD.
You can rent most bikes, but you have to give a week notice.
It is the same thing $2,000.00 DEP and the cost of the bike is what bike you pick.

I got to ride a V-Rod for about a day and a half (helped out with some testing for one of the magazines). The engine is AMAZING, but the ergos are ridiculous. They handle better than you'd expect from looking at one. But if you put that engine into a decent frame it would be very cool. I would LOVE to see what Erik Buell could build around a V-Rod mill!! :D
Oh, and it felt *really* weird to drag your heels when you really cranked the thing over in a corner :squid:
enjoy,

This weekend, I met some nice guys from Louisianna and Texas at a stop on the PCH.
They had rented some Harleys for a weekend cruise, one of which was the V-Rod. He was sayin' how good the engine was on the V-Rod, that it pulled like a muther...and that Harley finally did something right with that engine.
I almost hated to break it to him that Porsche engineered the motor.
:D
