Something must be wrong with me. It seems like I always want more. Ive owned my sv1000s for almost two years now. I love my sv! It's my first street bike (I went big because, well I guess it was an ego thing...I did have 4 stroke dirtbikes as a kid..anyways). Just trying to justify.
I crashed it on 79 south about two months ago. This gave me a reason to upgrade it a bit...Full fairing, puig double bubble, intergrated tailight, pc3, m4 full system carbon fiber high mount exhaust, k&n air filter, all new plastics, aftermarket bulbs, flush mount blinkers basicly everything but the suspension..The bikes actually still in the shop because Suzuki backordered the fuel tank. Much props to Scotts motorcycle shop in El Cajon. scottsms.com
After the crash my roomate felt bad for me and helped me buy a 2001 RC 51 since I had no bike. I thought this was the bike of my dreams...I was wrong, do'nt get me wrong this bike is the shiznit. But thats the problem it's too much and way to easy to ride like an idiot. Power wheelies all day.:squid: I sold it alraedy :(
I guess you could say I have the FEVER. My dream is to have a garage filled with sportbikes, but for right now I want an everyday commuter to and from work and a weekend warrior I can take to track or the canyons. My girlfriend thinks I'm a fool?
Shes like you already have a bike that you crashed and dumped a bunch of money into...we've been together for over three years and I think she wants a ring or something...oh well.
When she finds out I bought this, she's gonna cut my dick off.

Uh... well.... say goodbye to your dick I guess....
You know, maybe if you got her into riding, she'd understand...
Now bring that shite on a group ride, and please don't crash. My group ride stats are bad as it is....
sweeeet.
now, you may not HAVE a dick, but to the rest of us who can only afford 1 bike, you ARE a dick! ;)
I really like the color.

You should have bought a Harley, then the bike would have made up for the lack of a dick... :p
Anyway... Sweet ride! :groove:
Yes, you made the right choice. If the girlfriend can't handle your passion for bikes, I say get a different girlfriend. When I tell my wife I'm buying another bike, she just says "oh that's nice...what color is it?" My 675 is red!!!!

Your dick will be just fine. Now go put it to good use ;)
Excellent choice in bikes. Triumph scored a homerun with this bike and deservedly so. I have a couple friends that have them and won't let me test ride. They are in love with the 675!

That thing is gorgeous dude! If I wasn't so poor I can't afford to pay attention I'd be at ncy looking to get one myself. Great choice!

I am permanently in dog house for bike decisions - but still have dick. Using it is the question!

my dear friend I think you're looking at this all wrong.. you see it takes a special breed of person the ride a triumph. I personally cannot handle the level of cool it shows the world. I rode the st for about three months and had to give it back to my brother... couldn't handle all the chicks throwing themselves at my feet. being married it's just not a good thing... you buy a triumph and champagne flows from the heavens, music starts blasting from everywhere and suddenly all is good in the world... at least that's what my brother says...

OOOH!!! That's what that was! I was getting sick of having to swerve around women throwing themselves at me... I just assumed I was riding on the sidewalk...
And i thought the music was just in my head... I've been known to break into song at random moments too... I'm not kidding...
All is good in the world when I'm on any bike ...
But back to the topic at hand... Beautiful bike man congrats...

SV1000 for a first bike is an interesting choice... keep the triumph shiney.

You guys make it sound like I'm rolling in the dough...far from true.
I don't even think I break 50k a year. The thing is I'm one of those guys that can't seem to live without a car/bike payment everytime I pay something off it's like I'm in a hurry to replace that payment with another one. I guess thats part of this disease as well.
Not to mention great financing with low apr's. I mean I got my sv for $99 dollars a month who could turn that down, thats equel to a night out drinking downtown or two video games or a couple rounds of golf, fuckit if I take my SV to work over my Titan two or three times a week it pays for itself for what I save on gas...whatever it's cheap as hell, plus fun. Daytona = $139 aw the eternal bliss.
A coworker and I were talking the other day about does'nt it seem like you always have the same amount of money. We get about an 8 percent raise every year but were constantly upgrading our lifesyle. When he started he had an Accord then got a Acura TSX now he wants either an RL or TL. To each is own for him it's cars for me it's turning into bikes. I could drive a beater cage but if I have a nice bike I'll be happy.:)

I drive a 98' honda civic with 130K miles. I gets washed twice a year - maybe.
Here I am right now looking to pony up to next bike and my SV isn't even paid for yet. My brother wants it - and I am having really, really bad thoughts about evil ways to swing $10k-$11k range bike. Nothing good except a kick-ass bike will come out of this.
To answer your question, "yes it is a sickness."
