Motorcyclist killed in Borrego Springs crash

BORREGO SPRINGS ---- A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash that blocked traffic in the area for several hours, authorities said.

The crash was reported just after 1:30 p.m. on Montezuma Valley Road at mile marker seven, east of Ranchita, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The motorcyclist suffered head injuries and was not breathing when authorities arrived, the CHP said.


The roadway reopened just before 6 p.m., the highway patrol reported.

Damn not a good weekend for us two wheel lovers. I wonder if it was anyone we knew. Hopefully not the guy on the gsxr1000 that is on the mountain every weekend. I haven't heard anything from other boards yet either. He must not frequent them much. Soo sad this week. A few people died while racing their cars this weekend as well. We need to get a multi use track established somewhere in this area. It would keep a lot of the speeding out of the system on a somewhat controlled environment.
