I suspect some of you may have seen it on the SVRider site, but thought I'd post a pic or two here, in case you hadn't.
It turned out just like I'd hoped! Enjoy...

That is very sweet! I love the tail section and front fairing, single sided swingarm. I'd ask how much time and money that cost you but some things are better left unsaid.
It is a peace of art beautiful job!!!!!:worthy:

Yeah like to see that undertail exhaust... looks sweet..
Chris, you do AMAZING work... I followed your carbon tank for Zoran thread from start to finish.
I wish I had the patience that you have.
Looks like a modified honda(?) upper you've got on there. Is it? Lights came from what?

Details!!
:D
- '03 GSX-R Front end
- DYMAG Magnesium wheels
- MV Agusta subframe/tail/mufflers
- Tank- I made the carbon fiber & kevlar replica of the MV tank and mated it to a copy of the bottom of an SV tank.
- Honda RC30 swing arm
- Honda RC211V replica nose with custom side panels and custom fairing stay
And here's a better pic of the exhaust
My mouth has been open for about 5 minutes!!
Beautiful, just beautiful. Suzuki should build this!
mmmmm beautiful mv tail and tank...that is gorgeous!
Was it a crazy hard fab job to get the MV subframe and tail to fit? for me that is the best part

Not too bad. A bit of cutting, a bit of welding.
Here it is 'in process'...

Chris, I think you are the same Chris that gave me a couple tips on installing my VFR swingarm quite a while back. If so, thanks, it turned out great!

Got to the party a bit late here, so I'm being redundant when I simply add:
Great work, nice to see people building custom SVs these days. This one definitely raises the bar.
Now bring it down to LA so we can see it in the metal.

Gorgeous. Suzuki might want to tke a look at that design and think about making a few changes to the SV... Seeing something like that in production, I'd have to get rid of my bike now and get a new one. Beautiful bike man. Nice work...

Gorgeous. Is the RC30 swingarm farther out than the SV? or is that an illusion because the tail is different too?

The wheelbase is a bit shorter with the RC30 arm. The tail/mufflers sit much higher than the stock SV set up and does make the wheelbase look longer.

wow that thing is beautiful. if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost and how long did it take to build?

I didn't keep track of the cost or time. Cost wise, it was less than you might think. Turns out I'm pretty good at finding parts for a good price and I have friends 'in the business' so I got some stuff for cost.
Plus, I made a lot of the pieces myself. For example, the tank probably cost under $300 for all the materials, cap, etc.
Labor-wise, I'm into it for countless hours but that's OK, I enjoy the creative process.

Handles pretty nicely. I'm still tweaking the rear shock set up, but I'm pretty happy with the way it works on the street and on track.
Here we are (an earlier level of the bike's development) in Turn 5 at Thunderhill.

I'm glad to hear this is a piece of art that will be USED and not just stared at. Again, I hope to lay my eyes on it some day, but the pics are inspiring enough... keep us up to date with any more advancements.
Ride that bike,

I have a load of photos in my members album if you want to take a look.
Here is a photo/graphics image I set up of my SV650rs for my website where I take photos of bikes and enhance them on the computer and sell the framed results...
Awesome work, man!
How do you insure something like that? All I can think of is how mad I would be if someone caused me to lay it down.
That color scheme is awesome, too! With the gold wheels, it reminds me of a WRX STi.
Got any audio or video of it? I want to hear it.
Do you have all four silencers hooked to the exhaust system?
Let us hear it! :D

You, my friend are a genius! It is WRX blue! The first time I saw the WRX in that color with the gold wheels, I knew I'd found the color scheme.
The exhaust note is nothing special as those are stock mufflers (modified a bit to fit) from an MV Agusta. It's really nice and quiet - maybe a little louder than stock but nothing like an after market pipe.
I'm thinking of doing a new exhaust with a coupe '06 GSX-R 600/750 Leo Vince mufflers. They're very cool looking and I think would work well. Plus, the MV mufflers weigh a TON.
We'll see.

Damn ! That is one fine machine you've put together. I love the appearance of those MV exhausts, and coming by one cheap ... well, that does require some "connections":D
This is defintiely the trend these days: absolutely functional, performance enhanced, custom sportbikes. Its like "streetfighters" +1. Some are calling them "Rideable Customs". And no, I don't mean the chromed/polished-rimmed 'busa-with-extended-swingarm type of "custom".
I mean stuff like your bike, and this:
http://www.gc-cycles.com/
Might go a like route with my own SV. Yours is inspiring !
Very nicely put together! :)
What does the NC30 swingarm require to fit in place of the stock one? Does it mess up the lever ratio and geometry?

I'm a stickler for accuracy: it's an RC30 (RVF750RR) swing arm. Way beefier than the NC30 (VFR400).
Yes, the critical issue when doing these sorts of swaps is the geometry. In the case of the RC30 arm, a boss had to be fabricated and welded on since the RC arm uses a rocker that slots into a female mount. Plus, the hole for the shock had to be moved to the left and back.
It was 22+ hours of machining and welding to get this arm on the SV.
The VFR750 arms already have the boss, FWIW. I just preferred the fact that the RC30 arm is about 1" 'taller', has no giant cush drive and runs the caliper underneath. Take a look at my set up and then at a VFR750. The RC30 set up is way zoomier.

Stock SV kickstand. Maybe I just got lucky with the camera angles.
And it's now for sale. Offers over $9K considered!
