I have some um...friends that I'd like to take riding, but I need to get a helmet and other gear for them. I know it's important to get a properly fitted helmet, but I'd like to get one to fit most of the young women who might find themselves on the back of my bike. So what are the wives, girlfriends, female riders wearing helmet wise? Brands and size please. I know different brands fit differently, is there anything that fits generally well?
Don't forget the jacket, gloves and boots.

From my experience the HJC runs a large than the Shoei. If its HJC go with medium to small and if its Shoei go with Medium.
Really though for ultimate safety you need to have a helmet that fits them well...not "ahh this is close enough." But its your call and your passenger.

well, if u can afford to get a helmet for each passenger u have...by all means.
but +1 on hjc small and shoei medium...if your "young woman" potential passenger needs something bigger...than...uh...

Ha ha my buddy had a girl on the back of his bike last night so she borrowed my old XL size HJC... she was a like a golf ball in a fishbowl.

Shoei mediums are going to be too big for the average woman's head. My Shoei medium is bigger than I'd like it to be.
Buy a size small helmet. As for what kind, well what kind of helmet would you want on your head? Some cheap POS or something that'll save your brain? Arai and Suomy have base model helmets that protect just as well as their more expensive models, they just don't have all the bells and whistles (fancy venting system, paint jobs, tiny bit heavier, etc.)

+1 on an HJC or KBC small. Seem to fit most decently (I happen to be someone who could never wear a shoei.. ouch!).
Jacket size ladies M, gloves size mens S are easy to find on sale alot of the time.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I was probably thinking along those lines, but just wondered if anyone had had specific good or bad experiences with any of the brands. I have an HJC myself, it actually fit my head the best when testing at all the shops.

Don't forget as well that woman normally have more hair than guys.. so if you do plan on getting a small because it will fit you fine for example. it might fit them tight because the have bigger and more hair...

Don't even mention her hair. She will be self-conscious and complain about getting mussed up if you give her the opening.
Glad you're asking about gear for a passenger. I won't let my girlfriend or anyone else get on the back of my bike unless she has as much or more gear than I do. It really pisses me off to see a guy wearing leather and a helmet but his girlfriend on the back only has flipflops and a tank top.
And insurance is good too!

Just do what I do. Give the passenger all of your gear, and ride naked. The breeze is wonderful.

$200 on a decent helmet is better then a girl with a tore up face.

Jackets are far different...boobies come in all sizes. If you like decent sized girls like myself...a large womens jacket will do. If you are into skinny chicks you need to get a small.
I'm selling a womens joe rocket summer jacket... it's that blue purplish color. It's for a larger breasted woman. It would fit an "average" sized woman but a thin woman would prolly swim in it. Oh and I have some icon gloves that I'll sell too.

Don't mind the scary devil guy... I was in hollywood :D
I bought a $99 HJC size small, has worked for every girl I've put it on.....with jackets, if you already have a girl in mind, why are you going to spend your own money? Tell her to go buy a leather jacket, bitches love shopping.:D
lol Steve,
I'm thinking now of buying a new helmet for myself and literally just carrying my old Icon on the back of my bike wherever I go.
you never know when you'll meet a fine miss in need of a ride ;)
