Having put some decent miles on the GSXR gave me a sort of wierd perspective on things. The pro/con thing is hard to put words to. Both bikes are world class in their own ways (given the SV has it's suspension mostly upgraded). Both have their quirks too - neither is the "perfect bike" for all circumstances/conditions/etc.
Both bikes are comfortable, look great, sound great, deliver power in a linear and predictable manner, etc.
The GSXR750 is more $$$, runs slightly hotter, is louder and has a little more vibration than the SV650S. On the plus side, the suspension is world class, ungodly power is all over the RPM range (upper RPM's almost useless on street unless you have a death wish), great brakes, steering damper, nothing needed to be tweaked or upgraded, not to mention the slipper clutch is way useful.
I expect that the GSXR is going to be harder to service than the SV though.
I can't wait until I can get the GSXR over to the track.
So far, GSXR has me all smiles and no regrets. The same experience as when I got my SV650S. For now, collection is complete (especially if I want to avoid sleeping on couch for next few years).

I am jealous. That bike is damn near sexy. I want one so bad but I love the feeling that if I lay my bike down, it gets stolen, or I blow it up some how I won't have a heart attack. I will just simply go buy another one. But I would love to have one of those 750's. Hmm, so much to think about still. I need a damn stable for my toys. I can't walk around my apt because of the new bikes that keep coming every other day. And my patio is already full with the 2 SV's. City living is tough.
Ok, i'm done. Congrates on the nice ride, and I will hate you until I have one. :p
Nice choice! Although I'm kind of partial :D

....the vibrations thing will smooth itself out..........with more mileage....
....same with the shifting..........it's a bit clunky when new......but butter smooth with additional useage.....
.....back to the vibes........the feeling of the vibrations could also be magnified cuz you're not use to the bike and is a bit tense......
....
....as noise goes.............it's louder cuz you're at a higher rpm....
....noise comparisons.......given the same rpm........I can't tell....

MORE vibes? thats really weird. any of the I4's that i have been on have been WAY down in 'buzz' factor compared to my SV. maybe your still gripping too hard because you're afraid its going to rocket out from under you ;)

I think just difference frequency (Hz) /axis of vibration - different type of harmonics between v-twin and i-4... which just feels different. Got so used to my SV.
